I think that Donald Smith is the AD and from what I hear............he is a joke.

I looked it up and Craig Yeast is the football coach and he is the only Yeast that I see mentioned.

Terry Yeast was the athletic director at Mercer County for several years before moving to George Rogers Clark in 2023.

I was not forced out. I weighed it out over a 4 month period and based on the information I had, I thought it was best for the program.  But, in posting this…. I know you do that in support of me

Seems as if there are a lot of people creating false rumors about this job and who is interested.

Terry Yeast was the track coach and Assistant principal.  He was never an AD at Mercer.

This was where I read it:

After the merger of Harrodsburg and Mercer County, Yeast became the district athletic director for Mercer County Schools before moving into the position of assistant principal at Mercer County Senior High School, where he oversaw discipline and attendance. He also served as the interim principal for a period of time.

My Apologies.  I was wrong.  I guess he was the AD after the merger in 2006.  He wasn't the AD when Smith took over in 2016.

I would rather not coach at all than to coach within an athletic department run by Donald Smith.

I was told that Smith and Adkins did not get along at all.  Always lots of whispers and smoke anytime Smith is involved.

McCray or Sparrow with an outside chance at Elisha Justice. Pikeville AD is no longer in that position, this might be enough to make him want to leave and Booher reel him in. Shelby Valley is also rumored to be open.

I think the first two choices would be a home run for Mercer.

What would the Golden Lions do if this happened?

They’re hoping like crazy that this doesn’t happen.

Terry Yeast was the AD, he left and went GRC.

Donald Wayne Smith was my AD at Mercer and we coached football together. He is a good friend of mine and we go back over 40 years.

He has a strong personality and we definitely butt heads over my 7 years at Mercer.

But, he and I worked very well together during those seven years and saw our football program improve substantially. The last 3 years we had 70 players on the roster and enjoyed success on the field as well.

We worked like dogs to pull our community together and made progress. Our Hog-Dog-Titan each Friday night was very cool for our hometown.

I appreciate all he did during that time. He was a huge part of that success we enjoyed, along w/ a strong group of assistants that worked hard as well. I say this because I don’t want people to forget his role during a very productive time when we made so much progress.

Kasey & Austin would be excellent choices. Crazy about both those guys and believe they would be very successful.

Mercer ? & boys ? have been TOUGH jobs since merger. I have no idea what it is like now. But, if it is still tough, Kasey & Austin can handle it.

I love my hometown. It was super to me and my Dad. And, the old coach across town for my rival, Alvis Johnson, was great to me as well. Coach Johnson did more to help people behind the scenes that no one saw, than most people do for others in a lifetime.

Bottom line, I will always be thankful for my hometown and wish for the Titans the very best.
