Miami Redhawks Undefeated Season

Everyone loves a Cinderella story, and I must admit I'm a sucker for one as well. But let's be honest, that Murray St. team, played a much tougher schedule than Miami has played. I'm convinced, if they don't win the MAC tournament, I don't think they get in. Will the committee take two teams from the MAC? That's the question that has to be answered if Miami loses in the Conference tournament.

Out of conference, probably so. The MAC - while not a worldbeater - is a tougher conference slate.

It does stink that the powers that be eliminated the Bracket Buster weekend. This provided an opportunity for mid-majors to get a quality opponent on their schedules that they normally would not get. That, of course, would take from the power schools, so we can't have any of that. ?

They better win the MAC Conference Tournament. If they don't, they will not get in.

They will be in the big dance.

If they go into the MAC tournament undefeated, even if they lose they are in. With where their NET ranking is currently, they won't be left out for slipping up one time in the conference tournament. Which to answer your question in another post, yes that would mean they would take two teams from the MAC and another teams bubble would be popped then.

I agree.

Miami has ZERO Quad 1 wins and only ONE Quad 2 wins. They will have to win the MAC Conference tourney to get in, if they lose tonight at Western Michigan. I still believe they will have to win the Conference Tourney to get in, I do not see the Committee taking two teams from the MAC. So, we will have to let it play out and see what happens on selection Sunday if they lose.

I don’t care about the strength or weakness of conferences. Being 29-0 at this point is a huge accomplishment for any college basketball team, regardless of conferences. Granted, I don’t see them getting far in the NCAA tournament, but they deserve in at this point. Think of how many teams have made the tournament being just above.500, which did win conference championships. if they aren’t in with what they have accomplished to this point, it wouldn’t be a good thing. I’d be all for one of the more mediocre teams from the power conferences not making it in over Miami not being chosen, if not more than one.

I watched the second half. They were down as many as 9 a couple of times. They overcame a horrible night shooting the 3 (4 for 15), bad free throw shooting(15 for 25). Suder fouled out mid way through the second half. Skaljac did not play(injury???). They scrapped to the end and it took a last second drive down the lane to keep the streak going.

I want to see Miami in but they don't pass the look test to me. ?‍♂️

I don’t see them as a team that is a threat to go very deep, but I think they absolutely should get in.

Really Bruce, so if Miami goes 35/0 and wins the MAC tourney that makes them a better team than if they were to finish 34/1?

I'm sorry are we giving out participation trophies?

I think we’re giving out earned honors. If you are after a tournament that only let's in teams that will go all the way, I’m sorry to break it to you that there are way, way too many teams in it.
