Miami Redhawks Undefeated Season

I feel like you have to put them in, at least, the first four round as an 11 seed if this happens. I realize the metrics aren't great, but there has to be something said for winning every game you play in the regular season!

I agree.  However, with how "power heavy" college sports are getting you know there will be some media pressure to exclude them.

The MAC hasn't had 2 teams make the dance since 1999 (Kent State & Miami).  Miami got to the Sweet 16 (upsetting #2 seed Utah) before they were eliminated by Kentucky.  At least they kept Rick Majerus from losing to Kentucky for the umpteenth time in the NCAA Tournament.

Miami 95,,,,Ohio U 81

25 and counting.

I had a friend over last night and we watched the Miami/Ohio U game and we had a conversation that sounds a lot like this one, all the way down to the venue, uncanny...

From Lance McAlister:

Things related to me in conversations w/ friends that decided to attend the game last night, that have no ties to Miami RedHawks.

"Miami is what a college should be."

Overhead at the Miami bookstore:

"This is the first time I've been back on campus in 52 years.

I drove from North Carolina to see this game."

"I'll give them credit, Millett might be old, but their game presentation is outstanding, the music top notch. And you can't beat free parking."

"That's a style of college basketball I enjoy. They attack. They pass. They shoot. They appear to have a lot of fun doing it."

I always liked Millett Hall. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Oxford. I might have to take a trip up in a weekend or two just to hang out. I enjoyed the basketball and football games I’ve been to there. Even if the games are sold out, it would be fun to go just to hang up on High Street, it’s definitely been a good while since being there for me.

26-0!

Miami RedHawks Men's Basketball won before the largest UMass crowd in 12 years Tuesday night, 86-77.

Tied at the 7:01 mark, the RedHawks ended the game on an 18-9 run to secure the victory.

That's a new school record of 26 wins in a single season, and

51 wins over the last two seasons.

Miami is 13-0 in conference play for the first time in program history.

Peter Suder recorded a game-high 23 points, while three other RedHawks scored in double figures.

The Red and White shot 50% or better from the field (26-of-52) for the 20th time this season and recorded under 10 turnovers (seven) for the 10th time this season.

The attendance of 7,524 was the most since the Minutemen hosted St. Louis on March 9, 2014 (9,493).

Miami returns to Millett Hall to host Bowling Green on Friday, Feb. 20 at 8:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

The big question is they finish the season undefeated and lose in the conference tournament do they get an at-large?  The committee has never denied a team with just one loss before but Miami's overall SOS and metrics are weak.

If they lose they are out.  NIT

Weirdly enough, when I was driving for Lyft last year, I had three consecutive days where I took someone from the airport all the way to Oxford as students were returning to campus from I believe Thanksgiving break. Finally, on the third trip, I decided to take a little time and walk around town as it looked so cool just being out in the middle of nowhere. It is a neat campus. I didn't enjoy the drives out there, but once I arrived, it was a cool experience. ?
