Open Job: Hazard

Featured Replies

Terrible look by Hazard.  They were terrible 2 years ago.  Last year showed improvement and this year played one heck of a tough schedule with a young team and were competitive.

Anyone from outside of Hazard who would think of moving their family there to coach, should think twice before even applying.

I'm hearing this is an instance of the wrong parents having the ear of the right school administrator to have Coach Chandler run off. Add Hazard to Lincoln County and Central Hardin on the list o

Bad administrations ruin programs. Hazard was a dark horse favorite in single A next year.

We just posted on TCOP YouTube our episode w/ Coach Matt Chandler discussing his departure. He did a super job. Good luck to Coach and good luck to Hazard!

Preach.  Danville is just now recovering from such a thing which set back our program years.

Facts. As Much as Danville has beat the Breds it’s still a terrible thing to watch an administration almost intentionally submarine a successful program.

You guys did a good job on that podcast episode of letting the coach state his case.  Keep up the good work.

I follow Coach Chandler on twitter, from that perspective (which I know is shown in positive light) it seemed he had things going in a good direction not only from a success standpoint but a culture standpoint as well. Hope the best for him, while I do not know him personally, he seems genuine. Interesting situation in Hazard, to put it kindly.

Great interview with Chuck Smith and @ChiefSmoke on the coaches podcast. As Coach said he’ll never know the whole truth, or will the general public, but be definitely came across positively. I love the fact his two sons were already asking where they’re coaching next.

Any news on who the head coach will be ?

I’ve heard they have offered their first choice and he’s supposed to let them know by Friday.

Been told he has declined.

He saw the writing on the wall. Hard to sell the program when they let a great Coach walk out the door with the talent coming back.

Hazard has set a terrible precedent for the football program, they will just have to deal with it, worst thing about the whole situation is , hurting the kids that just want to play and win.

The latest name I've heard is Jordan Amis. Former Pineville and Bell County coach. Should hear something soon.

Numerous candidates have declined. Interesting to see who they land in the end.

Jordan is from Perry Co and knows the people there, played at Perry Central and probably understands the situation and is also looking for a head coaching job.
