Adair County 26 McCreary Central 21
I agree with Glasgow, I think they can and will compete with Hart and Larue. But hey, that is why we line it up.

Adair County 26 McCreary Central 21
If McCreary tries to get cute and throw the ball, Adair wins in a blowout. If they lean into shorting the game and living in wishbone, they keep it close. Adair's front 7 should dominate the OL, but McCreary has a couple backs that can keep the chains moving regardless of the OL. I've got Adair 35- 14

Something Seems Fishy: Riherd's, Tackett, and Arbiter
I saw the Post on Twitter announcing he was working on it and immediately followed. It is so much better, and the coaches actually sending in the data has been so beneficial.

Adair County 14 Metcalfe County 6
Casey should be a win, and as close as Casey McCreary was until the 4th, I think Adair beats them too. Adair should look to start 4-0. But I agree, I do not know if they get 2nd in district, Hart and Larue will be tough. I think they CAN pull those wins out if they can stay healthy. The coaches are good at the prep work, and the players seem bought in to the Dukes Era.

Cameron Dukes is the new head coach at Adair County
Wish him the best. He will have to lean on his staff for sure.

Open Job: Adair County
Update- Heard there are two interviews today, one yesterday. I do not know names of anyone. AD is allegedly looking to hire by the end of the week.

Yeah, few aren't taking that deal! Hard to be upset at a guy leaving for that.

Open Job: Adair County
Some conversations have been had about/with Dukes but still not sure on if he wants on staff at all. But yes he will be a teacher in the fall.

Cleary isn't applying.

Open Job: Adair County
Yes.

Open Job: Adair County
It's not been officially offered. There is one guy I know who will apply when it comes open who is already on staff. He would be a great hire if they do go that direction,

Spring Ball 2026
I think it depends on the kid. I was a football player who happened to run track so I got to do spring ball and miss track. It is really the head football coach working with the track coach to allow it. As a coach now, its kid centric as well. If the kid is on track to be a regional champ in the 200 but just happened to come out and play receiver because its fun, that kid will typically get to defer to track. But, that has just been my experience. I don't know how big time programs handle it.

Spring Ball 2026
Most schools I have been apart of will allow them a couple days of practice as long as they do not have a game. I have seen this most commonly with track more than than baseball.

Search Committees for Open Jobs
I think that may be my biggest issue with no outside voices. Many supers, ADs, etc do not know the game enough to hire some competent. I interviewed for HC at a small school once, and while most of the panel had no say in the final hire, they brought in 2 guys who had coaching experience to at least ask "football" questions. Yes, most of the HC's job doesn't involve X's and O's (parent issues, fund raising, travel, what have you) it was nice to know they at least cared about my thoughts on scheme and player development.

Search Committees for Open Jobs
In the three head coaching searches I have been somewhat privy to, all in smaller non powerhouse central KY teams, schools post it, await applicants, the AD, principal or Super will be the only three to do interviews or any communications. Boosters, parents, anyone else had zero say and input was discouraged.

Way too early coaching Hot Seat
Interesting take! I agree, we should be doing more to keep coaches for sure, but sadly you and I both know a large percentage of these admin believe a new guy would do better than them thinking it is something on their end.

Way too early coaching Hot Seat
What head coaches throughout the state are already on the hot seat and if they do not see massive improvements will be looking for new schools after (or during) the 26 season?

2026 Danville Admirals
As a stoney fan, I think he will have the talent and gameplan to beat WEB and Marion. Stoney doesn't often lose games he should win and if the game is within a touchdown, he typically has his guys ready to flip that. I watched the Danville/WEB game last season and I can't see them losing to them when those young guns have a whole winter to develop. But, this is why we don't play the game on paper. Should be another fun year for the Admirals!

2026 Glasgow Scotties
Fair points to be sure. I guess I should have stated that I mean in general I am in favor of keeping tradition alive, but maybe this specific Glasgow/Monroe one may not be needed. (Yes, I realize the thread is about that one and I moved the goalpost to discuss all the rivalry games lol)

2026 Glasgow Scotties
I get your point, but I've gotta say I disagree. I think all schools need those traditional games to continue to cultivate the tradition, keep rivalries alive, keep the community invested more, better gate money typically, etc. Like I said, you have a point for the competition side of things, I can't fault that. I guess I am just meaning to keep the spirit of the community of high school sports alive

KHSAA to consider multipliers and success factors for football realignment - What might it look like?
Several teams playing up a class, which I think was a lot from 3A up to 4A in this, would be a huge struggle but the numbers aspect makes a lot of sense. It would be fun to see alignment like this though! Thanks for the spreadsheet

2026 Saint Xavier Tigers
As long as weather holds up, could have it done in a week if they hustle. 2 weeks is the norm, I think?
