What assistant coaches throughout the state need more credit?
Being an OC for that long and not either moving or trying your hand at being an HC somewhere is impressive in itself, not even to mention the success they've had.

Yeah, I mean any coach you think deserves the love and recognition that we don't see. HC's get most of the love and all of the hate in the public. But our AC's need that spotlight sometimes. Standout qualities for me range, like you said there are about 3 types, and we need them all. There has been some talk regarding guys like Glasgow's DC and their stalwart defense this season. I am wanting examples of all types, just to share the spotlight in an season coming to conclusion. Really just to hype up some guys who typically remain unknown and are never given their flowers.

Simple topic, but I am curious as to your thoughts on some assistant coaches who people may not know about, flying under the radar who are doing great things.

Potential Job Openings
Casey also had two assistants leave, the former OC left (makes sense after staying on staff after OC duties "removed") as did the OL Coach, I think both coaches were also Casey County grads so it would be weird to see hometown coaches leave from a place like Casey. But, you are right, I do not believe there is a quick fix no matter who the HC is (although Saban probably gets guys to magically move in by name alone lol)

Potential Job Openings
For sure, it may be a job for someone begging to be a first time HC or a vet looking to fill the last couple years of their career. Hard to say, and they may keep Hatter given they are still a young team and a good portion of their talent is in that current junior class.

Campbellsville 52 Adair County 6
Not sure Adair has the Jimmy's and Joe's to compete. Coaching there is solid but they are a young team and have myriad of injuries to boot. I think Adair will use the 2 game streak and hope to keep it competitive going into playoffs.

Potential Job Openings
You have to think Casey County could be. Going 1-20 over two years looks bad. Coach Hatter and those guys are doing all they can, to be sure. But admin there may not see it that way. Something that may protect him is lack of interest in the job overall.

Potential Job Openings
I guess it is that time of year already... No idea on those openings though.

Lexington Christian Academy 38 Washington County 8
I had read that Washington had some injuries earlier but some of those kids are back and should be to form. I just do not know if that will be enough for them to overcome LCA. Give me LCA 42 WC 28 (Pulling for a close game, though)

Lexington Catholic 47 Casey County 0
Casey's talent comes in waves, and those waves are few and far between. There is some possible talent in the Youth League there, if they can keep them all in Casey and playing football, and even then it will be hard to see them get to the level of Lex Cath competition. Just how things happen there. Hopefully they can turn things around in the near future.

My Top 5 Pet Peeves About High School Football Fans
Black uniforms can be cool, I support it if the school has the money for alt unis, go for it. Sometimes the "back in my day" crowd has nothing left to talk about and are just trying to be nostalgic, which is fine usually, unless it is being used to disparage the current program. Love live streaming, but I agree with the sentiment that if you can go to the game, GO! However, it is not always feasible for everyone to go (several comments have mentioned reasons why that may be.) Cash is important, and I would love to carry both. Sometimes I do forget to get cash out of the ATM so having a card option is good. Both options are easy to have (huge fan of when concessions take cash and card.) Whatever your opinion on transfers, keep it consistent. Do not just like it favor your school and hate on other schools transfers. We hardly ever know the full story on why some kids transfer.

Can Casey win back to back games in their battle against Clinton?
The Rebels have been struggling but with the first win since 2023 happening last week over Jackson, can they use the momentum to lift themselves over Clinton?

Glasgow vs. Adair County Predictions/Updates
Is there a chance this is a trap game for the Scotties and they overlook the Indians? Glasgow has the talent advantage at practically every position across the board, and may be a little insulted that the Indians have them on their Homecoming and the first game on the new turf. But, one never knows on a Friday night in the fall.

Call Sheet
When I have made mine, I have every possibility we could run against multiple fronts. I may have GH Counter listed but 4 different fronts being 4 different play calls. Not only does this sheet have all my plays, but situational plays as well (Open field, 2 Minute, GoalLine, Redzone, etc.) But, my call sheets are the back up plan, what I focus on is the script I have built for that game, which narrows down everything.

What are the usual approaches taken with Spring Ball?
What is everyone trying to accomplish every spring? I always take the approach of getting your basic scheme and terminology completed on both sides of the ball as well as get a read on position battles, but I am curious about other approaches.

Open Job: Marion County
Okay, someone help me out here, is coaching different than teaching that they have to have the job posted for a certain amount of time before hiring? I know teaching/admin jobs there's a waiting period. Is it not the same for head coaches?

2025 Casey County Rebels
They did, first ever district title.

Open Job: Pineville
Anyone heard even an inkling about this job? I can’t find a thing, and that’s with asking a couple people in the community.
