How about Trevor Stellman?

Is he out at TMU?

Not sure what the HFC pay is at Thomas More, or the retirement situation, but that's not a bad thought for the Cougars.

From what I'm hearing, the Conner administration is doing what they can to convince Coach Rash to stay on.

If I'm AD at Conner I'm calling Kyle Niederman and hoping to make a deal. I'm not sure Niederman has any reason at the moment to make him inclined to leave one school-name-that's-also-a-first-name for another school-name-that's-also-a-first-name, but I'd at least be calling him and trying to get him interested in the move.

Danny Woolley is probably another guy I'd be giving a call if I was Conner's AD.

Chase Floyd would be who I would hire. He has been coaching for a long time now.

If I’m him there is no way I’m leaving my current setup. In fact when he decides to finally hang it up unless some drastically changes that is going to be one of the better jobs he n NKY.

He has been out of TMU for years.

Lol, goes to show how closely I follow Thomas More football ?

I googled "Stellman Thomas More" and the article that popped said he is "entering his fourth season as the head football coach at Thomas More University during the 2020-21 academic year." I skimmed and misread that to say he is "entering his fourth season as the head football coach at Thomas More University after starting during the 2020-21 academic year."

1.) What has Stellman been up to since he left TMU?

2.) Who's TMU's head coach these days, anyway?

I wouldn't blame Niederman for wanting to stay put at Lloyd....at all.

I just think Conner's AD should be trying to at least make that call and see if I they can get Niederman to tell them what it would hypothetically take to get him to take a sniff.

Would not be shocked to see Niederman retire soon.

One person I know that has been on staff for quite a while with head coaching aspirations is Chase Floyd. He has been the DC for the last 5 or so years and I know Coach Trosper was trying to work with him and help prepare him for the step up. At the very worst, he should get an interview!

My understanding is Floyd has been the plan. Maybe things have changed over the past couple months but Floyd was the expected coach in 2026 since before the season.

Conner never tends to do things outside of their comfort zone (or the AD’s circle). My guess is this goes to Floyd who has been well liked within the program the last 6-8 years.

Stellman would be the only obvious exception to this and IMO a slam dunk hire. He left TMU for more time with his family after the 2020 season. Norwell took over and amassed 5 wins each season in 2022, 2023, and 2024. This year, TMU went 1-10..

With 4 5A-6A schools in Boone Co and Ryle and Cooper having the great success they’ve had, what would a veteran coach let alone a younger coach be able to do to overcome that?

That would be a good hire. I'm just curious, though, why not go ahead and give it to him after Coach Trosper's passing?

Fair question asked by ASJ856.

I *think* Coach Floyd was the D-Coordinator at Conner, but I'm not positive of that. With Coach Trosper's death on June 7th, I can totally see where Coach Floyd would have been left in the lurch when it came to trying to take over the team himself with only 11 weeks before opening kickoff for the 2025 season. That's a tall order for anyone to take the keys to a program with that short of a timeframe to prepare, especially when they have to come up with an offensive coordinator, to boot. I can totally understand where, even if the job was offered to Coach Floyd at the time, he would have been very hesitant to try to accept.

Niederman has the horse that he thinks can win the Kentucky Derby. He ain't bailing on this sophomore class at Lloyd. I know that for sure.

I think he may hang it up after 2028 class.

I would say his next move would be retirement before taking another job somewhere else. Unless it paid somewhere in the 6 figure range.
