None of the top 4A teams are "great" by their standard, but all pretty good and pretty equal. After watching some of the Highlands and Douglass games, I think Cov Cath gets this done on Friday by 3 to 7 with my blue tinted glasses.

I think Harney and Gaiser are better and more athletic than the guys who Boyle will have touching the ball 35+ times (it's harder to throw in the rain to your future Sunday player at TE for Boyle). Harney also looks closer to 100% to me after getting banged up a bit in the middle of the season.

Coaching feels equal to me with two really good staffs. Boyle probably has a slight edge on the line of scrimmage with 74 back for them, but they looked much smaller than Highlands (I was pretty surprised Highlands didn't pull away in the 4th with multiple chances to do so). Respectfully - a big edge at QB to Cov Cath, add in the conditions in their favor to get +1 in the run game with the QB (looking like rain) and I think they get it done.

As of my today weather app is saying the rain will be gone and 0% at 7:00 pm Friday night.  Hopes this continues to look like this later in the week.

I like CCH by 7. I believe this team is battle tested and their schedule has prepared them for the gauntlet of 4A playoffs.

The offense has a ton of speed with every play having the potential for an explosive touchdown out of no where. Cash Harney and Dylan Gaiser are one of the best 1-2 combos in the state. The passing game also improved drastically over the second half of the season which has proven to deliver some big plays.

The defense is primed to match any style of play. There are great tacklers and speed at every position on defense.  Combine that with having a ton of experienced upperclassmen and the added big play from underclassman studs (Sophmore)Cash Myers and (Freshman)Brandon Smith. Johnny Lind is a handful as well.

It will not be easy by any stretch, but I believe this CCH team has what it takes.

Colonels win again this year at Boyle. Just won't be last play of game! Blueboys by 8!

I think Cov Cath gets the job done here. Hard to pick against Boyle for sure. But I just think that Cov Cath really knows what is working for them at this point in the season. Also they have pretty much seen it all now and not much could suprise them. Not that Boyle hasn't though.

I think Highlands should have beat Boyle and that Cov Cath really feels like they let Highlands off the hook. I think Harney does need 2 TD passes for it to be in their favor. If Boyle can load the box up all night and Cov Cath can't make them pay for it that may be too much to overcome. But I am going with Harney and Gaiser chipping away at Boyles stout defense and receivers making a big play at crucial moments.

Thinking about making the drive for this one, Boyle in a close game 34-28

Come on down.  Pretty nice stadium.  Concession stand is average, but there is usually a bbq food truck that is outstanding.  I'm expecting a really nice crowd given the last two years and excitement of where both programs are sitting and their chances of another title.  I don't expect a Boyle/Corbin '23 crowd, but I think it will be a very good one.

Just love great football, BBQ food truck and good football sounds like a recipe for a great Friday night.

Boyle wins in a nail biter. Between this game and the Scott-Woodford game, I'm having a hard time deciding which one to go to.

At Boyle there are signs with a QR code that you can scan and order your food from the concession stand at your seat, then go pick it up at the window to the right. It saves a lot of time, since the lines are usually very long. Look for the signs before you head to your seat.

I traveled down when Pat Towles and the Birds came down maybe 10 years ago. Really nice set up. Classy fans as well. I was impressed.

Gotten eerily quiet this close to the game.

Tough game to pick and smart fanbases.
