Totally agree, as painful of a performance it was down at Boyle Co when Rio's stat line was 11/31 for 144 yards, 2 TD/1 INT He has overcome and outperformed ever since.... Litmer's stats sin

This is how I see it as well.  I think it’s going to be a grind of a game in 1st half, then Birds pull ahead enough to get Ashland out of their running game and then that is when the Birds are going to pile it on.

If Highlands plays well I think it will be a running clock.  If not, I think Highlands wins by two or three touchdowns.

A player I would love to see have a complete game getting the ball is Colt Kremer.  He has shown glimpses of a really nice running back but it seems like we see him early then don’t feed him the ball throughout the game.  I get there are other players to feed.  Just would really like to see how he could wear down the defenses if you gave him a full game look.

Colt has a very bright future only being a Sophomore, just feel like this could be a game that you could give him more looks then they have done throughout the season, especially with Gabe out, Colt could be a nice compliment to Tayden down the stretch running the ball.

Agree on Colt! Last week I feel like we saw some stat building based on play calling. It was easy pickins for sure. Colt did have a nice game though as well. Not sure on play breakdown, but seemed like a lot more passing and some gimmick passing as well. But, hey, got to get the practice in. No slam against Greenup but that's all that game was for. And that's a KHSAA problem.

Here's hoping to see Colt have a great game!

Without knowing the facts and only taking a guess, haven't you paid a service fee to the company someone is partnering with? I'm sure Hudl would like to make a few bucks as well.

Then that is how it should be presented.

I would agree with this. Seems like it’s been the case that ‘everyone needs a touch’ during the blowout games however when real competition has faced the Birds recently (Elder & Scott Co), it has been Kremer & Lorenzen leading the charge.

Kremer leads the team with avg 7 YPC. And we all know what Lorenzen can do.. Both of these kids are tough, physical runners that land forward. Excited to see them as the matchups get tougher!

Does anyone have information on Gabe Williams?

LIVE STREAM UPDATE

It looks like they have fixed the bug on the Hudl price to view this game.  Going into my Hudl account it now states that the price will be $8.54 ($8 to view + .54 cents Service Fee).

Also, an email came out to remind people that are going to do the Hudl stream is that you MUST create a Hudl account to purchase the Livestream.  Don't wait until the last minute thinking you can just purchase as a "Guest" with a one time fee.

Now there is a novel idea.  Where is this money actually going is what I want to know.  Just to football or the entire athletic department.

Per FT Schools...

"proceeds help fund the Highlands Athletic Department and our student-produced broadcasting program."

I have been asked by a few people my thoughts on the whole "pay per view" situation this week. Streaming games is expensive, especially when KHSAA charges a fee in the postseason to stream. Per their website, it's $200 for a school to stream the second round playoff game.

So, I get it. We never did it when I was there. But it was always brought up. Another aspect of this, is the fact that students can still get reps despite this. The fact that FT can still do things like this for the kids, is awesome in my book...and the reason I've found some "success" (if you want to call it that) at this point in my life. I understand the frustration, but it's the price of going to the game anyway.

Free is always nice...but I am still very happy that the kids will get at least one more game to broadcast.

Because, whether you are a player, producer, director, camera operator, or broadcaster...HS sports is still all about the kids. So I am happy for the current kids in the program.

1992... visited a Highlands practice the week they were getting ready for Ashland in the playoffs. Tom Duffy was the head coach.

Sitting in his office before practice, asked him why he had switched from the triple option to the wing-t. He told me that running the triple, if his QB got hurt, the season was over. Not so with the wing-t.

Defensive Line included Rob Reynolds & John Schlarman. Watched their D-Line scheme period. Crazy good and efficient. Feel bad I don't remember all the names, but not sure I ever saw a more talented defensive front on one HS team.

Think they were off the field in barely over an hour. Meticulously organized practice.

That team went on to win the state title.

2003, we played Ashland to win the region, but came up a TD short the next week at Highlands.

Good luck to both teams Friday night.

Thank you for the instructions to be able to livestream here in Southwest Florida!  Gladly pay the fee to watch the ‘Birds and help the student broadcast team!

After watching the Johnson Central vs Ashland game on YouTube, I would like to update my prediction. Originally I said Highlands by 21+, but I am going with a running clock now.
