Gotta stay with the hot hand and keep Jhett at QB.

I tend to agree.   The 3 huge wins he has looked like all losses after the Lexington Catholic game.  The kid definitely has the hot hand!

  • BC's shadow still looms over the rest of 4A. Gonna be a great playoffs in that class.

  • A school the size of St X should have no excuses about depth at any position.  Boyle's playing a back up QB and his first start was against Highlands and they won that game.  St X could not block Boyl

  • Justin's not afraid to play competition.  Wins against St. Edwards and St. X in back to back seasons.

Boyle also using their backup qb.  Jhet has played really well but they aren't asking him to throw way down field either.  I know Murphy has been cleared to play and he has been punting for the Rebels, but I hear he is still really sore with contact.  Fully healthy I think he gets the call.

I know X was without their QB, but I was shocked at how Boyle County's OL / DL controlled the line of scrimmage against X.

This should be embarrassing for St. X. Until they can run the ball against good teams, they will continue to have a hard time beating them.

Maybe Glaser wasn’t so stupid after all. The line of scrimmage matters. That doesn’t seem to have been Wallace’s emphasis.

X is in trouble until Trimble gets back.

He's very good and can at least throw the ball down the field, and gives you an added dimension with his legs. Heard from a few kids that he might not play against Manual, which would be huge.

X O line is simply not physical enough.

X hasn’t been physical for years. The team was flat and not prepare to play at all. The offense has to utilize other kids in addition to Harbin.
It looked like Ryle in the playoffs last year. Boyle was physical. X wasn’t.

St. X O-lineman Tevin Wilson was hurt a few games ago and may come back in a couple weeks. A St. X O-lineman was hurt in 4Q and couldn't put weight on leg so he might be out for a while, so will need Tevin back sooner than later.

QB Beau Artman couldn't have had a worse first game as starter. QB Will Burmester came in the 4th Q and could actually complete some passes and he looked good in the JV game against Ballard so not sure why he wasn't starter from beginning. Also, I would have considered the talented freshman QB Austin Jacobson who I believe is the QB of the future for St. X. He throws a good deep ball, makes accurate passes and can run. The good thing is Trimble will be back but good to have a plan B if he gets hurt again.

St. X had 111 yards of total offensez- and negative 15 yards rushing….that's a problem.

Will Burmester in 4th quarter was 6-8 for 93 yards compared to Artman who played most of game and was 4-10 for 33 yards and an interception. If Trimble can't go against Manual hopefully Will gets the start.

Thanks Rebelstat for sharing the information. Absolute domination.

The line of scrimmage matters.

I'll be honest, I thought X would bring a bigger crowd.  It wasn't small, but I thought it would be bigger.  Sideline was kinda quiet also.  Players were playing hard, there was not a lack of effort by any means.  Atmosphere just seemed subdued.  It was a Boyle home game, I understand that, it just didn't have much of a big game feel.

Not to many people are going to drive 80 miles to a game other than parents of players, especially if can just watch livestream.

If Boyle plays at St X next year, there will be a considerable larger crowd on the visitor's side.
