All the OL played, the RB who's going to Louisville played, the H back who is also going to UL played.. and they garnered -15 rushing yards. Was so bad on the ground they didn't post the rushing stats to KHSAA. Lot of if's and's and but's, but the facts are the facts. Next man up!

Stats are posted on KHSAA. I looked at them earlier today.

  • BC's shadow still looms over the rest of 4A. Gonna be a great playoffs in that class.

  • A school the size of St X should have no excuses about depth at any position.  Boyle's playing a back up QB and his first start was against Highlands and they won that game.  St X could not block Boyl

  • Justin's not afraid to play competition.  Wins against St. Edwards and St. X in back to back seasons.

I'm glad they got them up there! Wasn't yesterday.

Not an X fan.  But I would fully expect Trimble to finish off some of those drives and not lay down a fumble because he is scared and set up Boyle for a TD.  Boyle line play was better but they were able to key on the run with limited passing.  Boyle QB was a definite better backup.  But beating X with an inexperienced QB is not beating them at full strength.  Boyle lost to LexCath - I highly doubt X loses  to them as well at full strength.

Boyle can’t help who is available against them each week. Take the L with some graciousness and move on.

Question for @Tigerpride94.  In all seriousness, do you think the X players took Boyle seriously as a team that could play with them or did they think that the Rebels were just a team out in the state that could play with similar rural programs but were no match for the “big 3” and they would come down and show them how big boy football was played?

I've always have thought there is a hangover after St. X/Trinity game because hard to get up the next week after playing Arch rival in front of 16,000 fans but you would think they would play hard after having two losses which I think they did but you could tell Boyle County who has great team was fired up and playing hard. I was definitely impressed with how hard Boyle County running backs ran.The defense looked fast. I think Boyle County can win the 4A Championship.

Nice win Boyle but the backup QB was scared to death and was not ready - fumbled I believe first play.  Set up a short field and a TD for Boyle.  This is a completely different ballgame and a possible different outcome if Trimble plays.

If a team is built properly around its offensive and defensive lines, it can handle an injured QB much better.  Wallace has not built his St. X teams around the line of scrimmage.  He has build his teams around QB's and receivers.  It worked well for him at Bowling Green.  Not so much at St. X.

So, when Boyle lost to Lex Cath, the returning starting QB was injured and they had to play with the Sophomore Backup.  Add to that the Rebels had 2 key linemen out for the Knights.

Based on the above logic, can one not say that Lex Cath beating Boyle without key linemen and starting QB is not beating THEM at full strength?

Don’t make excuses.  They just beat us.

He was hurt in Trinity game, but I expect him back this week unless has a setback. Also, I've torn off the rear-view mirror and focused on Manual so making this my last post in this thread. Good luck to the Rebels the rest of the season.
