SEC Player of the year?

Who is the front runner right now for the SEC Player of the Year? Let's hear some opinions!

I think Chris Lofton is the front runner, but I've been really impressed with Derrick Byars.

Lofton has done a phenominal job this season. But, the Vols have not! I think that the POY should come from one of the top teams in the league. Joakim Noah, Joe Crawford, etc.

Lofton is the obvious first choice, but does his time off for the injury make him vunerable? The only upside on voting for him on that point is looking how his team did without him, miserable.

 

Id also look for Big Baby Glenn Davis to be up there in voting, he leads the SEC in Rebounding, Off Rebounding, 3rd in scoring and min played, 7th in FGP.... some impressive #s

It will depend on how much longer this injury keeps Lofton sidelined. If only for a game or so longer then he is definitely one of the top candidates. But, should this injury keep him out for an extended period then it will definitely make him vulnerable. Glen Davis is definitely a front runner as well. LSU would be a lost cause without him!!!

LSU is currently 2-6, tied for last in all of the SEC. Glen Davis can't be a front runner to this point, at least not in my book.

 

Tennessee is 3-5, 5th in the SEC East. Lofton wouldn't be getting my vote either.

If Lofton can come back strong after his ankle injury I would go with him.

Vols are 1-3 since Lofton has been out. He comes back I think he will prove how valuable he is to Tennessee and carry his way to the MVP. Byars is also a sleeper with Vandy. Joe Crawford?? Unfortunately he won't make first team all conference.

Crawford is the leading scorer in the SEC on the #2 team in the conference. But unfortunately I have a feeling that you are right about him not making the all conference team. Byars is a sleeper!!!
