Boyle County 21 Highlands 20

Featured Replies

Was looking forward to this match up all summer, but when Murphy went down against Catholic I thought it was too much to ask for the young soph, Qb Jhet Raleigh, to be able to guide his team against HHS.  Kudos to that young man and Coach Haddix.  Big win for the Rebels !

Couple of things that surprised me the most on the game was.

Highlands had 32 passes to 24 rushes.

#22 Lorenzen not touching the ball more.

Boyle with a unbalanced line that Highlands could not stop.  Everyone knew what was coming and where it was going when the line shifted but couldn't be stopped.  Boyle's O-line gets a A+ last night!

Wouldn’t that fall under “deception”? I would like to see that play.

I watched that play live on the broadcast. They broke the huddle on the sideline, then all 11 ran past the numbers, #14 for BC then ran back to the sideline, facing the coaches, ball was snapped, he was wide open. I've seen the play run before. It was legal.

Special teams were not an issue last night.  Bad snaps happen from time to time, other than that things were solid.

Long touchdown pass is weakness of Sphire defensive scheme.  Receiver ran at and right past the DB with no help over the top.

I said going in that the biggest intangible was the Offensive Coordinator which was right on the money.  4 plus minutes to go, have ball and three timeouts down 1.  A 3 and out where there was zero attempt to run the ball.  Final play of drive and you throw a Hail Mary.  Only need 10 yards coach, how about intermediate routes to move the chains?  Luckily get the ball back and proceed to do the exact same thing.  I will give credit on the attempted screen play to Williams, but other 5 plays were terrible.  Put away the X Box and design plays to get 10-15 yards on pass plays.

The use, or lack thereof Tayden Lorenzen is embarrassing.  Has skills you cannot teach and just ignore him.

The RPO play that was run, why I have no idea, needs to be removed from the playbook.  Have run it twice and each time for negative yards that put you behind the sticks.

This team is talented and can win the state championship.  Final result doesn’t matter and things can be learned from it by players and most importantly coaches.

Drakes.  Had a greasy smashburger without the bun and steamed broccoli.

Thought you were celebrating??????  That means letting loose and feeling little guilt.  Not eating the bun and having broccoli instead of fries shows there is a real fear of celebrating.  Maybe the 1 point victory wasn’t convincing enough??

Well I did have 10 miles planned running earlier in the morning.  Nothing worse than having issues in a middle of a run through town.  Had to cut it to 9 but I did it with no problems.

The main reason we won last night!  431 yards of offense.  These guys took one on the chin last week and was determined to make up for it last night.

That’s really a great pic! The Birds let one get away and look forward to this rematch in November which most likely happens! Copper and Oak was great and can’t wait for the return and better outcome!

No rematch unless some changes are made. Plain and simple!

Number 1 for the Birds played a great game , not counting the fumble at the end.

I knew they would stop number 22, my friends knew it too.

Does H still have 4 QB's?  Why don't Highlands use 1 QB on each down. TRY SOMETHIMG DIFFERENT.  CCH is licking their chops. Elder can't wait either. Yea, I'm a BIRD.

Had all kinds of relatives play for the Birds. One has 3 rings and the other has no rings. They were one year apart. Both played both a and d.

The difference was NOT talent, they had different coaches.

Not trying to insult coaches players or teams but that is the main reason.

I still bleed blue  like I have all my life.

Congrats to BOYLE, YOU PLAYED GOOD GAME , JUST GOOD ENOUGH TO WIN.

Seems like that’s a slight to both teams. Boyle won the game by not making their inexperienced QB do things he wasn’t ready to do. I thought the fumble by Highlands, the running back was down, I’ll have to rewatch. Who was the coach from 1983-1988?  No titles in that span. You’re all over the place here. And you say “all kind of relatives play for the Birds”, yet you only cite 2.

It’s also impossible to have two people, a year apart, one having three rings and the other having zero, lol.

Bill Herrmann coached the 1983 team and Jack Eicher coached the other years.  Herrmann was coming off back to back titles in 1981 and 1982 when there were 4 classes and not 6.

First, let me tell you,.  Less than a year ago, I had a brain bleed which caused a stroke and heart and I spent 5 days in the hospital. So, you and my wife are correct. I'm not right. ☺️Now back to football.

If you or any body  figure out who I am so be it.I'm the Roller that nobody knows. I'm Gary Roller played foot ball my Frosh year and didn,t play any more. You might hear some names that sound familiar. My nephews are Brandon, Greg, Andrew. All three played both ways .Brandon got 3 rings and he played for Dale in 2007 2008 and 2009. Yea, he got plenty of Highlands bling.  Greg got a ring after winning the  state title game, final score 7to 3. I think coach  Hermann was the head coach. Remember , I'm might be wrong. Brandon got D1 from ARMY but did not accept it. Brandon was a three year starter at LB and tight end. Not sure about Andrews rings. I assume nephews count as relatives.
I have four brothers. George ,Bill,  Dave (passed away), Steve  .I know Bill has 2 rings one from 68 and one from 70.Coach Murphy was head in 70 not sure about 68. Brothers count as
relatives, right? If I missed any body I'm sorry. The moral of the story is the Rollers have lots of rings. Do you under stand now.
