Danville 49 Fort Knox 12

Final from Danville. Ads break a 23 game losing streak, score more points than all of last season, and get win number one in the Stonebraker era of Ads football.

So cathartic to finally end the losing streak that stretched all the way back to November 2022.  By all accounts, there was a good crowd at Admiral Stadium that reopened with some renovations after the Ads were relegated to playing games at Centre College last year.  Stonebreaker has done a good job trying to rejuvenate fan interest.

Trinden Sellers got the Ads off to a quick start by running back the opening kickoff.  Jayvian Meaux, a freshman at running back who is highly regarded, notched over 100 yards on the ground to lead a strong offensive effort.  Wish I had more stats but the new radio team for the Ads didn't provide much of those throughout.

By all accounts, this Admirals team has a good young core of players.  There will be some bumps in the road this year for sure but it looks like a foundation is being laid for future success.  A softer schedule compared to previous years should help to do that.  The Ads also scored more points tonight then all of last season, which is just a wild statistic.  In fact, they eclipsed that total in the first half alone.

Fort Knox now has a 12-game losing streak that goes back to the 2023 season.

The Admirals (1-0) will play Fairdale next Friday in the opening game of Marion County's Kentucky Cooperage Bowl.  Fort Knox (0-1) will travel to play Iroquois (0-1), who lost to Shawnee last night 30-6.

I'm hearing Freshman Jayvian Meaux had 4 TDs. Kid is going to be a really good player for Danville.

Looks like things are a little different this year for Danville. Good to see. End that losing streak with emphasis!

Congratulations Coach Stonebraker and the Admirals.

Saw their middle school team play last year and it was loaded with talent. Those kids might not be ready yet but if they stay at Danville, Stonebraker definitely will have some good talent to build upon.

He's an excellent coach but he's also really good at the part you just mentioned. Very positive, very excitable. It's just one game but he seems like exactly what the Ads needed.

Congratulations Danville!

My son played on team KY FBU & Battle of the Regions with Jayvian Meaux & against him in the middle school playoffs last year.  It was a lot better playing with him than against him ?.  I was happy when I saw he went to Danville because I knew he would be a big shot in the arm for that program.  Glad to see him get his HS career off to a great start.

For all of us old timers it's good to see the Ads break that streak. Had the pleasure of officiating for those good Sam Harp teams in two finals, a semi, and two quarterfinals. They always had good talent, were disciplined, and played hard. Danville was one of the programs that you knew would be good every season.

Glad to hear that Danville got the win that they have been seeking and that the season began with not only a win but a win that doesn’t leave much if any question. I hope that the season is a good one for Danville.
