I had the pleasure of playing football and managing for Coach Thacker during his time at Frankfort, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Great coach and a great person also.

Between reading the release and what you had to say Deuce, wow, what an amazing man and coach. I also like what Coach Thacker had to say about being around to help with the transition to a new leader. 

Anyone heard talk of him possibly going to Berea? I don't see that but it is being discussed.

Clearly a Great Coach of two sports and a Better Man. Many do not know that he has developed high octane offenses for football as well as a very quality Girls basketball program. As in his letter to the community, the man has invested a lot of his time and energy to help young people succeed in the game of life. And the players loved playing for him. HS sports is going to miss this awesome man in the days to come. Enjoy your well deserved time off Coach Thacker. Take care.

Big time respect to be able to handle and manage coaching two sports during the same calendar year!  His wife must be the salt of the earth!

Definitely, a coach who has poured time and energy into a lot of young athletes over the years. I think the one thing that will go under the radar is his commitment and balance as a husband and a dad while being a father figure to many of the young women he coached. He has created a legacy at Franklin County and also was a big part of the success at LCA (football) during his tenure there. Wishing Coach Thacker much success in the future.

We both may be correct I think Madison Southern is in or just outside Berea. lol

Coach Thacker was one of the best coaches/people I had the privilege of getting to know over the past 20 years.  Great coach who cared about his program and his kids.  

Joey is one of the great ones, and it has been an honor to get to know him over the last several years.  He is a terrific person, and once he realized that we had a great mutual friend, it was like we had known each other for years.  I wish him all of the best, whether he is truly retiring, or if he is retiring for a brief break before starting a new challenge.  

The Lady Flyers lost one of their better players to transfer to at the end of the season.

Would be one of their better players this year, had to sit out last season so didn't play for the Flyers but is now at another school, a state power. She has been there since end of February / early March.

Madison Webb to me would be the logical hire to replace Coach Thacker.

I believe the player being mentioned here is 6-2 PF Mya Yakubu who is in the class of 2026.
