Creighton 89 Louisville 75 (NCAA Tournament 1st Round)

Featured Replies

Final. A tough loss but the Cards had a great season(especially with the injuries) and Coach Kelsey for sure is the man for the job and they will be back and even better next year. Congrats on a great season. A tougher draw than I think they deserved.

Terrible ending to an otherwise great season for the Cards.

Not really too surprising for me.

Louisville was under-seeded, but so was Creighton. Their big man was going to be a challenge with the lack of interior presence Louisville has had all year. When you give up 75% shooting on threes in a half, you're not going to beat very many teams, especially veteran-led, well-coached teams.

Sucks to lose the first one, but they would have gotten curb stomped in the next round.

Something to build on, glad to have a reason to care about basketball again.

Didn’t end how I wanted it to. Still a great season for the Cards where they had been. I was worried about Creighton’s big guy and I was right. I’m excited about the future of Louisville basketball. Go Cards!

I couldn't readily find this info, has Louisville played in prior NCAA tournament games at Rupp? If so, when?

Not the outcome I was hoping for today.  Regardless of todays game, this was a great team and I loved watching them play.  Scary thing for CBB?  In theory, this should be Kelsey's worst team for the foreseeable future.   That dude is a great coach and I can see people wanting to be a part of the culture he is selling.

Feel bad for a minute.  Be darn proud of the season they had and gear up for the future.

I can't remember what year it was but I know Texas A&M beat them in Rupp, which then prompted UK to hire Billy Gillespie away from A&M.

All this.

One thing that definitely has me excited... This is probably the worst team Louisville will have in the foreseeable future.

Ah, yes. The golden years.

Just simply ran into a team that was on fire and could have beaten many yesterday!! Great season and looking forward to the future!

2007. Beat Stanford then lost to A&M. They also lost to UK at Rupp in the Sweet 16 in 1984, a game no one remembers, one year after "The Dream Game."

Going way back, the Cards got their first ever NCAA tournament victory at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington in 1959, a 77-63 win over Eastern Kentucky.
