Scott Co. 72 HHS 68

Featured Replies

Mayo struggled early, from the perimeter. Patterson, played well down low. To me Walls, Mackey and Lee were extremely active, saw the floor well and crashed the boards early.

HHS was down 6-8 most of the way and Mao got hot late. Often doubled and trapped by Scott County. Excellent game plan by Coach Hicks.

Oh great. Now you've done it. Now we get to listen (once again) to how many D-1 superstuds HHS has, and how pitiful a "normal" high school team wouldn't stand a chance against them.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist!

Hicks is a GREAT coach. He no doubt out coached the Huntington coach.

Huntington kept sending 2-3 guys deep, leaving 2-3 to rebound against 4 from Scott Co. Scott Co.'s ability to control the boards was the deciding factor in this game. Good win for Scott Co., but more importantly a great win for the state of Kentucky. Way to represent your state!

Do you really think that Patterson will come here...he already is badmouthing officials in Kentucky (Just reported on WLEX that he said this in an interview with a WV station). Personally, I thought it was called pretty fair, yeah they may have missed a few...but I think that HHS is just used to getting the calls and Patterson is a lil sour from the upset.

I was telling my boys all day that the better teams in Kentucky can play with anyone in the country and I was proven right tonight. I am not a Scott Co. fan, but I sure was tonight. We may not have had many all-americans come out lately, but we are still the best in the country!

Memorial looked full tonight on the news. It must have been a great atmosphere for high school basketball.

I love it you can't beat the quality of basketball in the Bluegrass State. Way to go Cards!! Hopefully I'll see you play at Rupp in March!!!

I loved Billy Hick's decision to trap Mayo as he brought it across half court. They took the ball out of his hands for about three quarters. Yeah Mayo got his 26 points, but for the most part Mackey and Jimmie Warren controled him. I really want Tubby to give it his all to get Bud to sign with UK next year. He can handle the ball shoot the three and pull up jumper, as well as take his defender off the dribble. Bud would look great playin for UK!

Looks like Huntington got a taste of what an organized team is like, not just run and gun like they are used to.
