Thought they’ve been there a LONG time and I’d imagine some of the Alums wouldn’t think too highly of combining schools.

Why should they consolidate? Bourbon isn't this juggernaut in sports or education.

My Dad interviewed for the Paris job when they hired Coach Goins in 1969. Even then, my Dad thought they were getting ready to merge.

I don't think that is on the horizon and I don't think it is the best route to go for the Greyhounds.

On my knowledge it would be best for the education side of the house and also athletics.

I left Paris because when football money, softball money, and principal accounts money, came up missing year two, it always got blamed on the 4 finance directors they had in three years. Now, they wanted to have one district account that they could do whatever they wanted with. Which is why all our fundraising got put in the football foundation. 

I didn’t leave Paris for another job. I left Paris because when a kid came in from another town, the AD forged statements on his transfer paperwork after his parents signed it. All the apologies in the world doesn’t amount to that child having to miss 3 games of his senior year. All because the AD had friends from Nicholas county that he didn’t want to make mad. “He wrote on the transfer paperwork that the said student transferred to Play football”. SLAP ON THE WRIST. "

Wow, what a post on his FB page. IF all that is true, there needs to be a serious look in the mirror by those in charge of the school district. Seems like Coach was doing everything asked of him and way way more.

I take Facebook posts such as this one as one side barrages to make my side look correct.  Indeed all of this could be true, but also all of this could not be true or some of this could be true, etc.  His facebook post makes it very apparent that he was doing 100% above board things and the district is completely unethical and immoral.  Again this very well could be true.....but then again......

Paris is supposed to let their players go to the rival school?  Odd times.

If a kid didn't want to be there, why would you want to keep them? On that same note, if HS in the state of KY are supposed to be about the kids, then why would adults let personal feelings and sports rivalries be the determining factor in allowing a kid to leave? I get it if there is something fishy around the transfer but if there isn't, then the only person truly being hurt is the kid.

How does the fastest growing district in the state start writing statements on kids transfer paperwork??? Like yall own those kids. You can’t even spell their last name but think they gotta stay at Paris High School. Y’all got people over their scaring kids who want to leave a broken system but can’t because you’re holding their future in your hands.

I’m tired of being nice. I’m 37 years old. I’ve been a lot of things but I’ve NEVER been checked. So you wanna know why I left Paris? Here’s why!!

I didn’t leave Paris for another job. I didn’t leave Paris when I kicked a kid off my team for bringing drugs in the school and in the field house. I left because the principal and superintendent made me put him back on the team. Whole team running around fried and I can’t kick a kid off my team who’s bringing it the damn field house??? Smoking big blunts in the field house. My mother helped clean up the field house and wash uniforms for a little extra money. She called me and said that the whole place smelled like weed and there were two kids sleep in the lounge. I go down, snap clean off and ask them how they got in. Little did I know, the principal was letting them come in there and sleep from 12-3 when they were supposed to be at co-op. No biggie.

I didn’t leave Paris for another job. I left because every time a DCBS was called, y’all were so quick to call my phone to take that child in. To clothe them and feed them. To raise them. AND DO NOTHING TO HELP WITH THEM.

I didn’t leave Paris for another job. I left because the superintendent pulled me in his office and said he wants to get all the kids he can get. In fact, he told me he was gonna get a bus to go up the road and pick them up. 2 weeks before school starts and 17 kids later, now they can’t afford a bus and all those parents are [redacted]. So who has to clean up the mess and make sure all those kids get to school??? Me! Not a dollar for gas. Not an oil change. Nothinggggg! Not even a Thank you. I’m still driving kids to Paris EVERY DAY and I don’t even work there. But I made a promise to them to get them to school and I stood on that. EVERY DAY.

Overnight, I lost the pre approval for a house that I worked so damned hard to get. How did they fix it??? They made up a bogus position in the school that had people questioning the validity of it from the jump. Especially a certain school board member.

I left because the superintendent wouldn’t check a certain board member who was FURIOUS that he couldn’t be on my staff. So furious that he was coming to practices and recording them. Same board member that was upset over this ORANGE football field. The same orange football field that the superintendent asked me to push and promote. To fight for. The same orange field that they had my bonus son, King, go talk about at an education foundation meeting. Then, the whole time the “community” is voting on the field, the superintendent is texting my phone hyped because the orange field is winning. Then stands in the newspaper and says he didn’t vote for an orange field. After that good ole orange field was passed, that same board member is on the superintendents ass so bad, the superintendent says he’s gonna look for another job.

I didn’t leave Paris for another job. I left because the turnover rate in teachers are second to none. Meanwhile, the best English teacher I’ve ever seen gets treated like crap. She stayed when others walked out. Took on projects that no one wanted like prom and senior trip and Homecoming. And what do they do??? Belittle her and talk about what a bad job it was. You lose teachers every day due to lack of resources and insufficient wages. Oh we can’t give y’all raises but somebody at the top CONTINUES to get one. A real leader doesn’t lead from the back. If my coaches can’t get a raise, I don’t get one either. Which is why I split my coaching stipend with my brothers. Fact check it.

I didn’t leave Paris for another Job. I left because my kids weren’t learning CRAP! Never brought home homework. Test scores in the trash. Walking around the halls and skipping class on the regular. Everybody running around high as a kite. My son’s mom and I had several meetings with the principal and then with admin about the drugs, discipline, and education, and he just says, “that’s just Paris”. No. That’s just weak leadership.

Same kids I brought down every day. Same kids we fed and housed when stuff got rough. Same kids we took to the dentist. Same kids we talked to the police about. Same little black kids that yall called thugs. Same little black kids yall didn’t wanna do anything to help with but so quick to call CPS on. Youve had 5 Black head coaches that have been fired, that quit, or resigned in the last 4 months and yall still ain’t woke.

I didn’t leave Paris for another job. I left because I realized that after the smoke and mirrors cleared, it wasn’t even about the kids anymore.
