I feel like the Cats teased us a little in that one.

A terrible last 3 minutes for the Cats they lead 69-68 with 2:56 to play and never scored again and were outscored 6-0 down the stretch and had 4 turnovers in that span and also gave up an offensive rebound basket. You just cannot do that in the SEC this year especially on the road. Next up Tuesday at #6 Tennessee.

For me, Pope's worst loss as coach. No intensity. Not enough effort by his team. And poor moves as coach.

Still early in the conference season, but UK is currently 10th in the SEC standings. Next game is Tuesday at UT.

Agree about the lack of intensity and effort.  Not an Xs and Os guy here, but I just see the offensive energy disappear everytime Williams gets the ball out front, his turnovers lead the team and are just waiting to happen.

Butler 2-7, 2 assists, 6 turnovers.

Garrison and Oweh each had 4 turnovers.

UK 17 turnover and Vandy with 5. That is lack of effort and intensity by UK.

On the good side of things, in 12 minutes of action, Trent Noah tied for the team lead in offensive rebounds with 3. Effort wise, Noah was the best on the floor for UK today.

I read somewhere that UK wasn't allowed to use the floor for a shoot around this morning. Is that true?

Vanderbilt got 22 more shots than UK in the game.

Not sure where you are seeing that at. Box score says it was 66-54 Vanderbilt in total field goal attempts taken.

I think they said something about that in the broadcast, but shooting wasn't the problem today. UK shot 48% from the floor and 39% on threes --- better than Vanderbilt shot.

I'd heard the same but I'm not sure why.

I don't know if Butler was sick or just still banged up but he got a lot of rest today and didn't play great. You just can't have 10 turnovers in one half and expect to win the game. Somehow UK out rebounded Vanderbilt by 13, but I'm relatively certain Vandy scored on all 9 of their offensive rebounds. Just an ugly, sloppy game.

The defense wasn't great, but it was more so the turnovers. At one point KY had gone nearly 6 minutes without a basket, only getting up 2 shots during that stretch. It was just ugly and not what you'd expect coming out of a week off without a game.

With the amount of turnovers the Cats had that’s believable. I’ve never watched a team that just sits back and watches the ball either in the ground or bouncing off the rim, and make zero attempt to go after it.

you can't teach hustle or muscle but you can sit guys for lack of it.
