I remember we talked last year about the coaching staff getting the ball to a certain player and someone maybe you (you know who you're said go to the coaching staff) and someone said why should we have to go to a paid coaching staff to do their job so maybe they don't know what they're doing)...well someone did go to the coaching staff...sometimes you gotta coach when you're not better than other team...as someone said the game has caught up and we still let certain players play because of their names etc and refuse to change...Mayfield just has some old die hard fans that don't want to acknowledge da truth nor change and fine with being RUNNER up or losing in 2nd or 3rd round in past 10 years

I want to thank Brad Morris, Jason Burkeen and Doug Sims (Red Helmet Sports guys) for the broadcast. I've had 2 knee replacements this year and it was great getting to watch the games. What a blessing

I haven’t commented on Mayfield hardly at all if any this year. I knew they were super young and didn’t expect hardly anything out of this season if anything. I know the old school Mayfield guys on he

Who would have picked the defending 1a, 2a and 4a champs to go down on the same night, in the regionals none the less?

I don’t think having a different qb would change anything. We got out physicalled last night, period. Our boys need to let that burn every day from now until next year at this time. They need to put in the hours in the weight room. I agree that our offense needs an evolution. I think we also need some team building exercises ( get together). Back in the years that we went four years in a row as the champs, our boys knew and liked each other so much that the other player was an extension of their body. I don’t feel that now. I can give you an example, I asked my son once why another player didn’t cover the play a certain way. He told me that he didn’t know, that was that players job and my son had his own job. He knew he didn’t have to worry once the play got to a certain point on the field because his brother would handle it. They fit together like a glove. That’s what we need to foster. It starts at home. Get the boys together as much as possible. They will become one.

I’m really not even sure what you’re trying to say here. Mayfield has a chance and expectations to make it to championship game every year. We have ups and downs as far as classes and talent goes but that doesn’t change the expectations. You can count on one hand how many times Mayfield has been put out before the semis in the last 20 years. There are schools and fan bases that would kill to have that kind of expectation and success. You will have to excuse us for being “ok” with how things are going. As far as the qb situation goes. You can’t take a small snippet in a lopsided game against the opposing jv team and say he should be starting. It was a qb battle at the beginning of the year and #11 won. He gave us the best opportunity to win.

He's a Murray guy masquerading as a Mayfield fan.

The score was 47-7. Do you think that player is going to make up that difference in this game?

I’ll add to this. Mayfield had the athletes to match Lca. The issue was in the line on both sides of the ball. Not sure what the future of Mayfield‘s line is, but that is where the improvement is needed.

I actually had Murray in mind when I said some schools and fan bases would love to have those kind of expectations. ?

LCA offensive line dominated the game.

The radio guys were saying LCA put another running clock on the Cards in the 2009 1A Finals.  That game was:

LCA 55 Mayfield 19

Beechwood took a 38-0 lead just 3 years ago in Ft. Mitchell.  Running clock and then Mayfield scored.

The Red Helmet guys were certainly caught off guard last night.  From now on I am sure they will have their "we got clocked" notes together. ?

The broadcast was great, thanks Red Helmet Sports Network!

It was never a fair competition.  #2 out worked and out played #11 all year.  Including against tilghman in the 2nd half.  The decision was made before spring practice started and you know why.

I don’t believe it. I want the best player playing and #2 wasn’t even close. I had an open mind.

It’s not me who puts the players out there. But I don’t see it the way you do. Sorry.

Mayfield has never had a running clock put on them period that I know of. Playoffs or not.

Beechwood had a running clock on them in the 3rd quarter in the 2021 semi finals.
