What’d he step down for? Seemed like something solid was being built. They did just update Grayson Co with the interim though

I've seen that it was for personal reasons. Wonder if they let Schum just keep it.

Would Coach Wolfe be leaving Male for somewhere else? I do not see him getting relieved of his duties.

The word I heard (all speculation) is that he wanted a “break” at the same time his daughter would be graduating high school and after this senior class of Male football.

He's from Highlands so maybe he could get back to Northern KY and coach Simon Kenton.

After coaching at Male? Really. The Bluebirds tried everything to lure him back. It actually got kind of funny after a while.

Neither school district currently has a listing posted for their head football coach position.

I think the landscape has changed since he's been there and so has the kids that are coming through. Southwestern had around 30 kids take that covid year and it helped mask the struggles of their middle program compared to the other two schools. Last year saw most of those covid kids graduate, with the exception of a few (Gallagher). They also got a bunch of kids from Russell that they haven't been getting, and now with Russell winning they probably won't leave there as much. Now with Pulaski winning and a lot of buzz around their program, from middle school to high school, things aren't buzzing as much on the south side of town.

I know the "Coach Wolfe is stepping down at Male" conversation seems like it's turned into an annual Christmas-time tradition around Kentucky and here on BGP, but I keeeeeeep hearing about this one this year. Like I'm almost hearing as much about it as I did when Highlands was actually in talks with him after they canned Coach Weinrich.

Yep. We've got individual threads here in the football forum for both of those jobs.
 

 

 

Any truth to the Southwestern rumor? It seems hit and miss on any information. Just curious, that's a big 5A job.
