From what I heard the Dodgers are taking on Diaz entire salary.  This was a payroll dump.

He only had a one year deal for $4.5 million. Not a huge dump...Reds weren't going to resign him (in all likelihood unless he greatly improved) and he was going to leave anyway. Might has well dump him now, save rest of the seasons salary and get a rookie arm into the system.

Save close to $5mil and get something back in return for a guy that was walking after this year and was stinking the joint up this year anyway.  Not much to complain about with this one.

I was kind of hoping for Shohei Ohtani in the trade.  He hasn't done anything off the mound recently.
