Brady Singer with a nice first outing yesterday vs Dodgers.  Dan Plesac on MLB really likes Brady Singer to have a great season with the Reds.  If he does that is exactly the boost the starting staff needs.  A lot of innings and quality starts.

Amazing Stat I just saw today:

Haven’t checked in with spring training stuff.  As they say in Cajun country, what’s the haps?

I like this team as far as being more competitive.  Still injuries are having a huge impact to start the season.

 

Lowder and Abbott so 2 starting pitchers down.

Diaz so down the closer.

Stephenson and Steer so down 2 of your top 8.

We have 11 teams that are right around the $325M in revenue the Reds generated. There are only three teams that are well below the Reds - Athletics, White Sox and Rays.

Baseball has a revenue sharing issue that is getting worse.

I think it is unsustainable. 

The players association seems to be the strongest of all American sports. If you played in NYC or LA would you be on board for sharing?

Agree. There must be better revenue sharing on local media contracts. The big markets have a massive advantage. If you go down that list, all the big cities are the ones with a $100M plus advantage. 

The Yankees and Dodgers are each $200M more than everyone else. They are more than 2X higher than the majority of MLB teams. Then you have the Red Sox, Cubs, Phillies and Braves a $100M more than the next group. 

This team is quickly becoming the most disappointing Reds team I’ve ever seen
