Manual (2-0) will host Frederick Douglass (1-1) after beating Central Hardin 21-7. Frederick Douglass will travel to Manual after a 23-13 loss to Trinity. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30.

Manual has struggled offensively and has yet to score a touchdown in the first half. They appear to be a 2nd half team scoring all their touchdowns in the 2nd half. RB Gerian Traynor led the Crimsons against Central Hardin scoring two touchdowns and had 68 yards rushing along with 55 yards receiving. Manual's team strength has been the defense so far this season and was led by DE Devin Allen with 13 tackles against Central Hardin.

Frederick Douglass comes into this game battle tested having scrimmaged St. X and played Bowling Green and Trinity. Against Trinity, Frederick Douglass was plagued with 4 turnovers and were led by Dakari Talbert and Aveion Chenault who both scored touchdowns. The defense gave a respectable effort holding Trinity to 141 total yards of offense.

Manual is going to have a tough time scoring against a very good Frederick Douglass defense. The Manual defense may keep them in the game, but Frederick Douglass looks to have more weapons on offense that will be the difference. Can Manual pull the upset or does Frederick Douglass roll to 2-1?

  • I love that stadium and the last time I was there it was packed for X.

  • Manual Stadium is great. Awesome place to catch a game. I’ve seen it pretty packed a few times over the years.

The FD D will keep the Crimson bottled up all night. Give me the Broncos 31 - 10.

Manual is in for a long night. Douglass defense is top notch. The Crimsons will not drive the ball.  I believe 28-0 Broncos looks about right.

I'm not sure Manual could score on Douglass' second string defense.  I like ths's score 28-0 Douglass.

Douglass by as much as they want. Manual will not score much (if any) on the Broncos.

Manual will be dismantled. Sophomore QB Mack will throw 2 picks.  Less than 150 in total offense for Manual.

What’s the scoop on Smith from FD?   Did he play against Trinity?

He injured his MCL in the St. X scrimmage and is supposed to have surgery this week. If he has no setbacks looking at 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs. I hate it for him he is a great kid.

Frederick Douglass fans: Manual stadium is in a neighborhood. When St. X plays there I either park on street on Burnett between Eastern Parkway and Clarks Ln or the big parking lot right there but you have to pay. You can park on street in neighborhoods if can find a spot. The stadium has some parking in the field behind it but it's a pain to get in and out of. If you get there early, I would hang out at Check's Cafe which is popular before games and about a block from stadium to the West.

I’ve also parked on Reasor Avenue many times as well. But Manual Stadium is a bucket list venue to check off for sure.

I think Manual can hang around for a quarter or so, but think Douglass is able to pour it on as the game goes.

Frederick Douglass - 34

Manual - 7

Wow this place looks ancient! Tons of seats though! Does Manual pack this place out, outside of when they are playing X and H?
