I do not understand the universal love for Ballard. Did they have some big talent transfer in that I’m not aware of?

They have an entirely new coaching staff and lost plenty of production from last season.

I'd say they looked at last seasons results and simply added the teams that ended last season well.  Regardless of graduation.
