Yes, it’s a high school and academics come first, but high school sports, especially basketball and football at a place like CovCath, is just as crucial to the student than anything, I’d even argue, far more important in the grand scheme of things than a HS math class. 

Point being, if CovCath wants to get someone, and there is mutual interest from that candidate, Rowe and Baci are very competent, competitive, and savvy leaders, they will find a way. Whether it’s boosters putting up additional bonuses, setting up some additional retirement account/vehicle, or what have you, they’ll get it done. They will not, however, do this for a Math teacher - I don’t care how good he/she is. So, they do extend considerations to coaches (football and basketball specifically) that they do not extend to a teacher only position.

Jason Booher's wage as supt in Mercer Co. is listed publicly by the KY Dept of Ed. He was making $151K this past school year. No way CCH can touch that kind of money.

As for the question asked about religious beliefs, no, it is not a requirement. Lynn Ray was not Catholic. Coach Krumps was raised Catholic but doesn't really practice. I'm not sure whether or not John Rodenberg or Dave Brossart were Catholic. Catholicism is probably ideal for a candidate, but isn't required.

This.    As long as your values align with the school's, whether or not the padre dumped some water on your head really shouldn't matter.

To be more direct, there are zero special "pay structures" arranged for any coaches beyond their normal bump in wages for being a coach. You don't know what you're talking about.
