Final a sad ending to a great game! For Iowa to win it all vs. South Carolina the refs will have to do even more than they did tonight and Clark will have to play maybe her best game of her career for the Lady Hawkeyes to win the title.

Well, exciting ending to a sloppy game.    Iowa plays like that Sunday, they get smoked by 30.

A interesting stat this was UConn's 23rd final 4 appearance they are now 12-11 in the final 4 they are 11-1 all-time in the championship game.

Just watched the screen again and I think it was the right call. If you see the angle from across the court, the U Conn player jumps out a step to her left away from the basket to set the screen. I thought it was borderline till I saw it from that angle.

But the thing I will say, if the ref did not call it and U Conn hits the shot off that screen for the win, people would be questioning why the ref did not call an illegal screen.

Watching the wider angle replays, she pretty much never stopped moving, shuffling her feet, leans into it. It’s pretty much textbook. 

A lot of us struggle with the “let the players decide the game” bit if we have a specific rooting interest, but this is one of those times where the response is that they did decide the game - she committed a foul. That’s a player action deciding the game.

Thank you! Never understood the “let the players decide the game” when they AWAYS do! It was a foul, she chose to set an illegal screen, how is that on an official? ??‍♂️

It was an illegal screen!  This whole “you don’t call that in that situation” mentality is crazy to me!  I’ve watched multiple angles and you can clearly see her throw her hip and shoulder into the girl while sliding her foot over in front of her.  That should be called whether there is 4 seconds left or 40 minutes left.

It was an obvious foul and should have been called.

People are making a big deal out of nothing.  This was a foul and nothing would be said if they whistled it with 6 minutes to go in the second quarter.  But they whine when it's called in the closing seconds.  Officials should call a foul whenever it occurs.  The plea to "swallow the whistle" is stupid.  Call the game however it happens, whenever it happens.  This is not complicated.

UK fans would want to fire Geno lol.

No one addressed the fact that UConn didn't block out on the missed FT. If they had rebounded that miss, called a timeout, they would have had the ball in front of their bench correct. You could watch Auriema's face when that fundamental error occured.

Once again, my faith in humanity is not restored.   Gabbie didn't commit the foul, nor did she call it.   Grow up joe citizen.
