Any elaboration on that? Nobody here will mind, I'll come out and say I've been hearing Tay Kinney is leaving to go prep. Specifically OTE in Atlanta, the same place Jasper Johnson from Woodford is going. And I'm from Covington, just the scuttle butt in NKY.

Hearing similar but don’t know if it’s smoke or fire so I’m just going to sit back and enjoy the ?

With the big changes CCH will only win 25 games.

I will, somewhat. I cannot speak for CCH but I will comment on the Jags. You’ll get no disagreement from me that Newport is undoubtedly the best team in NKY with the talent they have. You may even be

No one in the entire state has nothing but rave reviews for Kinney and no one is going to "shut him down" and he very well could avg. 30 or more frankly.  I'll disagree that he's played against better

I've heard this as well.

Griffen Starks announced he is transferring to Archbishop Carroll in Philly.  That evens the playing field a little!

I'm sure that won't be his last HS either.  What an odyssey with those Starks' boys.

Griffin Starks is now back at Newport from what I'm hearing.

I don’t know where OTE gets their funding but I know that they offer top players such as Kinney BIG $$$ to leave their high schools and play for OTE.

Depending how young you are you must have never saw Duran Jefferson and Elijah Pittman play. I feel that those 2 should be considered for top 10-15, they were absolute DAWGS.

Coming in late....but Austin Hill was better than Duran on the hardwood. Duran was the better two sport athlete.

Also, Elijah Pittman is absolutely top 5 players in the 9th over the past 30 years. If not for some off the court issues, the Sacramento Kings were prepared to take him with their 1st round pick the year he came out of Marshall.

Just curious where do you think Arez Henderson falls at along with Hill and Jefferson? Behind them, in between the two or ahead of both. I watched him dunk all over Darius Miller down at state, doesn't necessarily mean anything because Mason County still won but Henderson was a very good ball player.

100% Spot on here Walter!  Kinney is absolutely high caliber but the players you've mentioned from Holmes from the glory days absolutely rank extremely high over the last "30 Years".  Could've, or should've had at least 1 more state title during that run.

I viewed Arrez as more of a defensive player when comparing him to Elijah, Austin and Duran frankly.  Certainly was a force in his career and could jump out of the gym!  Sorry to reminisce, but I often wonder what Holmes would have looked like had Brandon Hatton and Jalen Avery gone to Holmes.  Ok, I'm done dreaming lol.

I agree with you 1000% on all the above. All them dudes was way different hoopers then what is out there now days. Kinney is a bona fide baller don't get me wrong there either I am not taking anything away from him at all.

Arez is getting inducted into the Holmes Hall of Fame this week, one of the best  jumpers I have saw play.

Well deserved for him! Not only great ball player but he was a standup student as well and turned into a great young man. I think his offensive game was a little underrated because he played with so many other good players that they never really needed to lean on him for offense and he just played his part. Was always a stud on defense.

I'm a younger cat, just in my time and off the top of my head I would go with;

•James"Beetle" Bolden

• Nick Ruthsatz

•Brandon Hatton

•Sean McNeil

•Adam Kunkel

•Jake Meyer

• Jake Ohmer

•Cole Von Handorf

•CJ Frederick

•Dantaie Allen

To name just some.

Just outside of 30 years, but Jack Jennings was the most dominant player I ever saw play in the 9th region.  I think he averaged over 30 ppg his senior year.  Unstoppable.

Rumor up here in Hebron is that there will be roster shakeup on the ninth region before school starts, with departures not additions. Good possibility these rankings will change.

The one thing that will not change is Newport will be the heavy heavy favorite to win the 9th.

If Newport were to lose Kinney does that change it?

@FlyPattern @Cousin Chris          How do you think the rankings are shaking out right now at this point in the offseason. Still a good ways to go until we see some live action. don't forget not too long ago, the kid from Holy Cross Jacob Meyers was at OTE. He was back playing ball that year with Holy Cross before the season started. There is 0% chance that happens with Kinney this year. But still enough time for these rankings to move around a few times.

You got me Honey Badger.  I didn’t see that one coming.
