Yes. Don't schedule and agree to contracts that you don't plan on fulfilling.

Was there wiggle room on the contract? I think Lincoln was originally scheduled to play Lafayette last season but something came up and they added Scott County pretty last-minute. I'll assume it was a 2-year deal but someone more in the know can maybe confirm.

Yeah, it's been really sad to see in the games I've attended as of late.  The whole vibe/energy is like a ghost town.  If you'd have told me it'd be that way in the 1980s or 1990s, I would've said you

  • Great point. I don't see the same level of vitriol towards Danville for canceling their contract with Boyle as Lincoln is getting.

You won’t see it either. When 60% of the people commenting are Scott County grads, and one of them being an assistant coach, it’s clear why the negative comments toward Lincoln. If the Scott County pr

From an interest level, and revenue standpoint it makes sense trying to get a local team like Danville back on the schedule for Lincoln Co.

It doesn't benefit Lincoln or a new head coach coming to get clocked by Scott County. They need to compete for a win if they want any chance of a winning season and a kick start to the program.

Would love to see new head coach Levi Rogers find a winning season in his first year.

There wasn't. They paid the money to buy out of the contract.

Danville doesn't bring any fans.  Not anymore.

Interest level on the road.  And, when the game is @ Lincoln the Lincoln fans will certainly come out.

So because a school finds a new coach they have the right to not honor a contract that has been signed? And makes it ok to back out of a game this close to the season?

Everyone is entitled to their opinions.  Last season, Lincoln had 59 kids on the team. 16 seniors. Currently they have over 100 kids interested in playing football next season! Will they all be there when the season starts? Probably not but having 40 kids return from last season and another 40 that come back to the sport or come out for the 1st time means the new coach is getting support and enthusiasm from his school.  I'm sure the AD and administration supported the schedule change. Kids are working hard to improve for next year!!

If they feel like that's what's best for the program and paid the buyout then yes. If it were in June or July then it would be a different story.

I believe so yes. That coach did not agree to it and that is what is best for the program imo. Scott will find another game.

They will? With who? Mostly everyone is on the backend of two year deals. SC is hung out to dry and will likely have 9 games. Unprofessional move by Levi Rogers.

Levi Rogers gotta find wins in year one. I guess he thinks playing Danville will get him ready for District games against Boyle, Wayne and Taylor County. Lol
