Levi Rogers gotta find wins in year one. I guess he thinks playing Danville will get him ready for District games against Boyle, Wayne and Taylor County. Lol

So to your point, Scott County playing a Lincoln County team who went 2-9 in 2022 and 4-7 last year will help prepare them for their playoff run? Highly doubt it.

Yeah, it's been really sad to see in the games I've attended as of late.  The whole vibe/energy is like a ghost town.  If you'd have told me it'd be that way in the 1980s or 1990s, I would've said you

  • Great point. I don't see the same level of vitriol towards Danville for canceling their contract with Boyle as Lincoln is getting.

The virtriol is more about Danville ending the series (at least from loyal fans).  I think Danville had already contacted Lincoln about a game, hence their decision to cancel Boyle.  I don't see why you would do that unless you already have someone else you can slot in there.

You won’t see it either. When 60% of the people commenting are Scott County grads, and one of them being an assistant coach, it’s clear why the negative comments toward Lincoln. If the Scott County program is so elite like they act, they’ll have enough money to buy themselves another game. Danville needed to cancel on Boyle years ago. That rivalry has been dead for a while now. If Lincoln County honored their contract and paid the amount, then so be it. Same for Danville. It’s not a hard topic to grasp unless some on here have interest involved. Me being the freelancer that I am, I get to sit back and watch! ?

I gotta be honest, I don't know Coach Rogers at all.  Heard a lot of good things about him though.  Pretty sure there was an issue with one team having two games scheduled for the same date.  Honest date mix up.  Forcing Lincoln to go looking late.  But, Lincoln was only down 2 scores at halftime.  I don't ever really think they were going to make it a game late, but they competed and were able to move the ball at times against a good football team.  My point is that I believe the Scott Co. game helped Lincoln.  As opposed to what the Danville game will do for them this coming season.

I do understand a new coach needing W's though.  I really do.  New coach, home town guy, great player at the same school.  I just wonder what the reaction would have been if Coach Jaggers had paid 3 grand to buy out a contract before he had coached his first game because the team would be to tough for them.  They'd have called him a coward, or soft or questioned how he expected to get better just playing easy teams.

I hope Coach Rogers makes a good run at Lincoln. I really do. Just seems to me the biggest problem with Coach Jaggers was that he wasn't Coach Rogers.

A "big" reason for the firing of Jaggers to some LC folks was the fact he "went to the beach" during fall break.

Now LC fans are applauding buying out of a contract to play a lesser opponent...that doesn't add up?
