2023 Outcome

Record: 4-8

After reaching the highest of highs a decade ago, the John Hines era concluded with a young team learning on the job against a quality schedule. The curtain closed with a second round playoff loss to crosstown nemesis Southwestern.

2024 Outlook

For the first time since 1998, someone other than Hines will call the shots for the Maroons. Boyle County defensive coordinator Travis Burns was tabbed for the task, inheriting a roster that returns the starting 22 mostly intact. The Anderson, Brock, Denmeyer trio gives the first time head coach a productive core to build the offense around, with 4/5 linemen also returning. Most of the defense is back, including last year's top four tacklers, paving the way for an optimistic start to the Burns era as Pulaski looks to get back to its winning ways and turn back the tide of the Southwestern rivalry.

This will be an interesting team to keep up with this season.  The Maroons made a great hire and have a lot back.  Good luck Coach Burns!

Starts the season off against Beechwood at University Of The Cumberlands. So we will see just how good they are right from the start.

Pulaski will win their district this year. Mark it! 

Wonder if Pulaski will play the same tough schedule as the year before?
 

Also, I’m curious to see the change in playing style. Should be an interesting year for the Maroons. I didn’t realize they brought back that many starters.

OL Brady Hull received a UK offer for them earlier today. 

I think Coach Burns is the right guy for this job, and he is walking into a golden situation. I expect this team to operate a lot differently and win the district in year 1.

I fully expect them to run the ball more with that offensive line and Kasen Brock leading the backfield. 

September 27th should be interesting...

Sep 20 vs. Woodford County Loss (little bit of a brain fog from the game before)

Sep 27 at South Laurel* Win (The players will want this win more)

I think they will be much improved, and everyone speaks to the talent at the MS level coming in.  But, the district will run through SW until it's proven.  Hard to discredit what Coach Foley and his program has accomplished so quickly.

I don't dislike their chances. I am just going by how they may be health wise and mentally after the game against Corbin. Not saying Corbin is world beaters but I assume it will be a physical war that can take a toll on any team. I personally hope that Pulaski goes 10-0 with that schedule!
