Always room for improvement but it will be hard to take a big leap. He was very, very good last year

I thought he was the best quarterback we faced, and there are several others in Mayfield that agree with me on that.

Clay Hayden has been invited to the Elite 11 regional competition, I'm guessing in Columbus on April 21st. One of the state's top quarterbacks gets a chance to show he's also one of the best in t

Beechwood WR/RB/DB Luke Erdman won the state championship yesterday in the 100 meter, the 200 meter and the 4 x 100 relay.  He set new school records and almost broke the all time class A state record

Seems like there are more college coaches visiting Beechwood than ever before.    Kudos to Coach Volker for making it a priority!

You beat me to it and I agree but like CCHFC said I am excited to see any improvements because wow is that going to be something!

He’s an outstanding player and it would be tough to do better statistically. His hudl film from last year is pretty incredible.

It would just be getting bigger and stronger and being able to drive throws outside the numbers with more velocity as well as naturally improve as an athlete when that happens. I’m real interested to see how his college prospects shake out this spring and summer.

McNicholas (OH), who Beechwood beat 31-14 last season, has been replaced with a road game against 5A Pulaski County for the Tigers' season opener.

I would kind of presume that game will be part of a bowl.

I was originally shocked when I saw the 2023 schedule starting with an out of state team.  Knowing a little about RPI, I thought this game was a mistake that might dictate that long journey to War Memorial.  Afraid it did and may have been the difference that got a great Mayfield team to win the championship.  Bring the Cardinals to Ft. Mitchell after that 5+ hour bus ride and the script might have flipped.  So glad to see the schedule change for next year.  With 5 district games there is zero room for out of state blows to the RPI.

I can feel the Mayfield/Owensboro Catholic tension building.

On one hand it was a good game for Beechwood but on the other hand the major issues with the RPI make scheduling good games like that a bad thing for your football program.  We have the tail wagging the dog because the KHSAA is married to the RPI.

Will be an interesting year for the Beechies. Year 2 will put the ? Rash era really in the rear view.  Add to it the loss of legend and another ? Coach B and a new era will definitely begin. Looking forward to seeing the boys hang another banner. The talent is there. My key for the season is simple.  Balance.  Chics dig the long ball, it’s sexy. But the banners on the Gordon Hood Fieldhouse were mostly hung by ground and pound, dominating/punishing running games, which in turn controlled the time of possession, which enabled the defense to be fresh and to dominate the games. The explosiveness will still remain, at any moment, but restoring Balance is my key to another ring IMO.

Also my dark horse breakout player is Bo Sowder.  Heaven forbid an injury open that door but if so the  All State Good Hands award will be on full display.

Is it August yet?  Let’s go!!!!

Looks like the rumors of a BIG addition in ft Mitchell are true.  Potential game changer for the Tigers at the LOS.

I watched some of that video, this will be a huge addition.  He looked really solid against a lot of good football teams.  Add a year to that and the huge step down from Ohio D1 Football to little school Kentucky football and I tend to agree on him being a potential game changer.

I know the kids uncle.  Said he came in 3rd in the Moeller Crusader Challenge last season which is a competition that measures strength, speed, agility.  The only 2 kids that beat him was their 5 star running back Jordan Marshall that signed with Michigan and their stud middle linebacker.  He beat 4-5 kids who are DBs, receivers and DL who are being recruited by top power 5 schools.  The kid looks like a beast.  His uncle said the first play on his huddle film is against the 4 star DL from St. X who signed with Michigan.  He put that kid on his back.

I read somewhere Trevor Fryman has a scholarship offer from Louisville for baseball.
