McNicholas (OH), who Beechwood beat 31-14 last season, has been replaced with a road game against 5A Pulaski County for the Tigers' season opener.

I would kind of presume that game will be part of a bowl.

It is a bowl game. It’s the Cumberland Falls Bowl in Corbin. Pikeville is playing Corbin in the other game.

Beechwood WR/RB/DB Luke Erdman won the state championship yesterday in the 100 meter, the 200 meter and the 4 x 100 relay.  He set new school records and almost broke the all time class A state record

Seems like there are more college coaches visiting Beechwood than ever before.    Kudos to Coach Volker for making it a priority!

What a doubleheader!

Fantastic schedule.

It’s really unfortunate Beechwood has to play 5 district games, while majority only play 3….. really dings the RPI.

I am thinking this is the last year for the 5 district games. They will have to shuffle the districts next year and St. Henry coming online will change the N. Ky. districts.

Is that played at University of the Cumberlands or Corbin?

I think it’s at Corbin but I will find out.

That is the hope. It would be nice to get a district with Beechwood, St Henry, Walton-Verona and only one of those other county teams.

There have been more than you would think in that range. Mattox Kelly, played OT last year and will be a senior this fall, is about 6'5 or 6'6 but not nearly that heavy. Luke Slusher who went to WKU was around 6'5 280. Brett Eyckmans who went to EKU was about the same size. There have been others right around that size.

If the rumor proves true and my info is accurate, he played at Beechwood and is coming back.

So Beechwood will have 2 linemen about 6’5 this year? I know one year they had 2 or 3 big boys on their line. It was the year they beat Hazard 14-7 in the finals at Cardinal Stadium. They beat Critteden County in the semis.

Clay Hayden has been invited to the Elite 11 regional competition, I'm guessing in Columbus on April 21st.

One of the state's top quarterbacks gets a chance to show he's also one of the best in the midwest United States.

I believe one was Domenic Maniello. I believe that was his name. Committed to play at Western or Central Michigan.

Should be another really nice run in Ft Mitchell this year. The train keeps rolling.

This kid is really good. Another year in the weight room and game reps under his belt and he should take big leap this year.

Always room for improvement but it will be hard to take a big leap. He was very, very good last year.

You beat me to it and I agree but like CCHFC said I am excited to see any improvements because wow is that going to be something!
