BUT…….

I don’t think Cooper has seen an athlete this year like Deuce Bailey and Trevy Barber.

They practice against one every day.

Great write up as usual @Purple88. BG is on a mission and has been all business since the playoffs started. Looking at the schedules is enough for me.  If BG plays well they will win. I

Jags have earned quite a bit of respect the last three weeks, and deservedly so. I'm not shocked. They are very much capable.

I hear you and I have not made my pick yet on this game.

I may be wrong on this and someone may want to fact check, but if Cooper wins in 5A I believe they would be the first High School team within the Boone County School District (Boone Co. HS, Conner HS, Ryle HS and Cooper HS) to win a State Championship since Conner HS did in 3A in 1983.

You just revealed my deep dark secret why I am jumping on the Jags bandwagon, getting much needed revenge on a team that broke my heart 28 years ago!!!

GO JAGS!!!!

Still bitter about that season as well…. Stood along the fence line in frigid temperatures not able to feel my hands while my beloved Birds fell short against the Cougars, I believe 13-6 if my memory serves me correctly.

Thanks for all the miserable trips down memory lane in these last 2 posts.

The Jags have been underrated all year.  Hoping that feeds their fire for one more game.  Go Jags!

GO JAGS!!!!

No, Highlands got revenge in 2007 where they beat BG at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium in the Championship 28-7.  BG has lost in the finals 5 times not 4.  Hoping that number holds after Saturday.

I just want to add that I was really impressed with Coach Borchers' interview.  I can see why Cooper is in the State Championship game from the Coaching side.

I didn't know how to take it.  It was very matter of fact, dry commentary.  Nothing against that type of personality but it was totally different than how the guys were joking back and forth having a good time with Coach Spader.....  It almost reminded me of Belichick's pressers...  Not saying that style is bad just I guess "unique".

Seems like Cooper would leave for game before the noted 3pm Community Sendoff on Saturday. Seems like a late sendoff to me.

Good luck to both teams. Should be a great game.
