Male (2-1) is coming off a open week and will host Trinity (2-2) who is coming off a 41-14 win over Carmel (IN).

Last year, Male won 23-21.

Male is led by QB Kolter Smith 564 yards and 6 touchdowns. Kolter Smith finds his top target WR Max Gainey often who has 267 yards receiving and 5 touchdown catches. Chayce Burton leads in rushing yards at 235 with one touchdown. RB Shammai Gates has 4 rushing touchdowns. LB Solomon Conley leads the defense with 28 tackles.

Trinity in the Carmel game was led by QB Zane Johnson who was an efficient 15-18 with 208 yds and 3 touchdowns. Clinton Sansbury led the rushing attack with 183 yards and 3 touchdowns. WR Jeremiah Lynn led in receiving yards with 110 and had 3 touchdowns. DB Sekou Kamara had a interception in the endzone.

One of the keys to the game will be how well Male's Max Gainey does since he is hard to tackle. Both teams are good against the run so the defensive backfield for both teams will be a key. This looks to be a competitive game and Male has had two weeks to prepare. Does Trinity avenge last year's loss or does Male make it four wins in a row?

I always have the mindset to play the players that give you the best chance of winning regardless of age/level.

  • He played for the Louisville Chargers and 8th grade at Dubois. He has been a top 5 QB in the country for several years. He is not your typical freshman.

    - Trinity leads the all-time series 26-23-2. - Male's current three game win streak over the Rocks is tied* for the longest by a Trinity opponent this century. *Male (2018-2019) and Moeller

Looks like Zane is comfortable helming the offense. But Male with two weeks of prep should have some defensive packages to stymie the freshman.

IDK which way to lean right now...

Give me Male in a close one. If there’s a rematch I think Trinity wins.

This is a total coin toss.

The Rocks secondary has to find a way to slow down or stop Gainey, without leaving other receivers open. I'll never vote against Trinity, but this will be a close game that can go either way.

I love these big time matchups in 6A.

I don’t know how quickly Zane will be able to adjust to the Male sideline slopes…. Those quick sideline outs become very difficult.

Where did the Johnson Kid go the middle school? Must have a pedigree to play QB at the T level as a Freshman?

To me this one boils down to which team gets better QB play.

For T, it's alot to ask of a Freshman, but here we are.

I went to the H vs St X game and clearly felt the X QB was the stronger QB that night.

Obviously, the X defense had alot to do with that, but still.

Not sure which one to pick?  Feel it will be a close game.

It's at Male so I'll go H-21 - T-20.
