The bold also takes time. I heard once from a HOF HS football coach out of state (I'm talking one of THE states when it comes to HS Football) that when you're a new hire? It usually takes TWO full offseason and TWO full season's before your new team is YOURS.

I don't think we disagree. And totally agree that a full rebuild or the setting of a new culture takes 2-3 full seasons. 

The disadvantage the new coach has is that they've missed off season workouts, missed spring ball, and assuming it takes at least another month until a name is announced, they are going to be diving straigh into summer practices. Hoping they hit the ground running, but will be tough assuming they don't have a staff completely in place yet, then they are at dead period. This first full month for the new coach will be essentially July.

The new coach I’m sure will be pressured by all the “who have you hired?” questions and that’s a good thing to get those.  Anytime people care it’s a good thing! But maybe it will be a smooth transition, but maybe it will take some time? Ultimately he has to find people he can trust. That’s the first thing. If he can surround himself w a couple few coaches he can trust? That work hard and know the demands that high school football is and can be? The football part is easy. You can teach that, even if they know nothing about it. 
 

Obviously much of their success this season will be determined by their talent vs those they have to compete with, namely in district and region.  For whatever reasons that’s a topic that's always “proceed with caution”, but in the end? That’s what matters.  Are your guys better than their guys?

I doubt this takes a month to decide.

I would agree, just using what I deemed worst case scenario regarding time table.

They had 1 week of spring Ball, week 2 was cancelled due to field availability. A few assistants have been running weights since January 3 days a week.

I've heard the school is wanting a teacher to take over. So I wouldn't expect anyone working outside of education to get the nod. But that depends on the interviews.

That is typically what you find, but I would have to say schools are now more and more open to paraprofessionals if it’s the right fit on both sides. 

They should pick the best candidate, regardless of if they are in the building or not. 

Interviews start tomorrow. Only 2 names I’ve heard with an interview are Shelton from CovCath and Pence from Cooper. 
 

Anyone else hearing any other names? There was a mention of an NCC assistant but no name.

I have heard nothing but good things about Coach Shelton.

Was a really good player for CCH and even at 25 (?), I would not be surprised to see him take over a program like this and have success.
