Valiant effort by the Norse.  Just couldn't hit shots and Warrick struggled mightily.  Hated seeing Trevon Faulkner leave the game in tears.

Sam Vinson led NKU with 15 points. 

To me that was a moral victory for NKU.

Vinson always impresses me.

NKU was 27.5% from the floor.  Also 5-34 from 3.

The two teams were a combined 9-50 from 3.

Should be noted that Sasser didn't play for Houston in the 2nd half.  I'm sure not having your unanimous All-American for most of the game made a difference. 

Great effort by the Norse against a very good team. I know NKU still hasn’t advanced, but four conference championships and with technically having four NCAA tournament appearances, which would have happened with exception to 2020/COVID, which is impressive. 

On the bright side, they keep Horn for at least one more season.   They win that game and his name starts getting floated for bigger jobs.

What are the odds Vinson hits up the transfer portal after last night? The only thing that would keep him there is the location IMO.

I hope he stays put.  Northern will be really good again next year.

I think he enjoys playing locally before friends and family. Worked well for NCC grad Drew McDonald. I'm hearing Horn back to WKU, Brannen back to NKU.

He was in SEC at South Carolina..... sometimes bigger is not better.

South Carolina is a No Mans Land for basketball.  Even coaches at successful power 5 conference schools have failed there (Dave Odom (Although he did win back to back NIT titles) and Frank Martin)

Sam Vinson represented well last night!  Hope he stays at NKU but would understand a move.  

I know a school that desperately needs gritty guards on the roster...
