First, congratulations to Pavey on his success and hope it continues for him as it sounds like the change in scenery has benefited him.  Second, for blanket statements that NKY coaches don’t promote

  • A bit harsh for a guy who has a state championship appearance under his belt. Winning is hard. Additionally, the grass isn't always greener.

They have a great coach he would be hard to replace!

They already played. O'Hara looked pretty good.

How many coaches in NKY have a state final appearance? Or even multiple regional championships like he has, and another regional championship appearances. As for NKY head coaches I believe there are only four other  current head coaches that have at least one regional championship on their resume, and only one other one that has multiple regional championships on their resume like him.

Coach Borchers does a great job. He fields competitive teams against tough schedules. Cooper should be really good this year with loads of talent and experience.

10 current head coaches in NKY have won regional titles including Kozerski, Eviston, Borchers, Niederman, Lickert, Weinrich, Barth, Sphire, Warner and Lucas. A few more have regional title game appearances including Engler and Trosper. 6 or 7 of these guys have won at least 2 regional titles. 4 have won state titles including Kozerski, Evistion, Sphire and Weinrich. Warner and Borchers have led teams to the Championship game.

Thank you for that correction, I definitely somehow did forget about a few of them. Which the majority of those guys with similar accomplishments are still either coaching that same team, and or left on there for what most would consider better jobs. Which gets back to the point of how crazy it was for a person to be suggesting that Cooper needs to make a change.

The Jags have a strong youth program too.

How has Lonaker looked this summer? Has he picked up any more offers?

Yes not sure how good he is.

Cooper looked good against Western Hills and Scott tonight.

I expect Cooper to be a good team. But, Bellevue and Ludlow would look good against Western Hills and Scott.

Kind of a crappy shot at a couple of proud small schools, but with that said, no they wouldn’t.

Agreed. Scott is down, but looked OK. Western Hills (Ohio) looked better than Scott. Neither was Cooper, but Cooper will be just fine.
