Yeah as soon as he got to Taft, he gets an invite to UK and Miami of Ohio.

So that must be based on his play at Cooper correct? He has neither played nor practiced at Taft correct? Not a real drive for a recruiter from Cincinnati to Union. Sounds like someone at Taft has these coaches ears.

First, congratulations to Pavey on his success and hope it continues for him as it sounds like the change in scenery has benefited him.  Second, for blanket statements that NKY coaches don’t promote

  • A bit harsh for a guy who has a state championship appearance under his belt. Winning is hard. Additionally, the grass isn't always greener.

They have a great coach he would be hard to replace!

Sounds like the Cooper coach is busy talking up other kids. Idk if it’s a coincidence or not ??‍♂️.

Or maybe there are two sides to every story ?? Looks like both the player and Cooper have moved on and we should just leave it at that and wish them both nothing but success.

Probably some truth to it, I know OSU when they come to Cincy recruit the heck out of Taft. And In general have been hitting Cincy hard last couple years. I think it’s a no brainer a kid would benefit from playing over there. Same reason Queen just left CCH.

Ohio is a football state. It’s eat, sleep, breathe football over here, and the trickle down affects are real. Football is tougher over the water, kids are better and coaches are better. That means naturally kids will get recruited more, I don’t blame any parent or kid for wanting that.

Ohio is a great football state no doubt. Kids are not necessarily better though, there are just more to choose from… to include the ones coming from other states. More opportunity to play D1 football in OH as well. There are some amazing coaches on the KY side of the river who would and have done an amazing job with less support than some get on the Ohio side too.

Disagree on just assuming coaches are better. If you say kids are better, then that means even an average coach could have success with better talent.. So that doesn’t mean they are better coaches at all, if working with better talent.

Some of the moves across NKY the last couple of years just blows my mind. I was told by a guy up at Roger Bacon it's because kids get more exposure from College scouts playing in Ohio. I guess there could be some truth to that.?‍♂️

Proof is in the pudding. Cincinnati Offered.

This here is a huge difference between KY and OH. Ohio actually puts out effort for the kids.

Spot on here.  Northern Kentucky does nothing to promote their kids for the next level.

Yeah I thought it was just a given that football is head and shoulders above over here. Recruiting, on field play, talent, coaching doesn’t really matter what you wanna look at it’s better. If I had aspirations for my kid to be the best he could be and make it as far as he can. I would 10000% think about playing in Ohio rather than Kentucky. No other way to slice it.

One player's story is not proof. There is zero doubt in my mind that a talented 6"3" 305 pound football player in N. Ky will get D1 offers.

We should be able to put together a pretty good list of players from the past 2-3 years that have gone from N. Ky. to Cincinnati for football. All of them were good players that would get football scholarship interest on either side of the river. I would like to see what happens with each of these players and where they play in college.

In order for a player from Kentucky to play in Ohio they must move and become an Ohio resident correct? Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia, and Tennessee kids can play in Kentucky with no residency requirement.
