I don’t get the “It’s ok to suck it up this year, because best years class is going to be Awesome” line of thinking. Ok this team may not be as talented as we thought on paper, but wouldn’t a good/great coach adjust to his players strengths instead of running the shot clock down to 8 seconds and forcing something? If you were a HC wouldn’t you play to your team’s strengths? This team is defense of rebound kick it out and run, but there are plenty of times in a game you have to run a half court set, and our half court is standing around, running off a half butt screen and throwing up a prayer. You can’t defend our offense.

I'm not sure I've seen anyone say that in here.

This year sucks and it's not okay, but some of us want just one last year with Cal and that class before it ends.

I personally rather roll the dice with Calipari and that incoming class that not having Cal and next years class from scratch, filled with who knows what.

Reeves is averaging 11.8 pts, which is second on the team, 2 rebounds and an assist a game.

I know it is simple to say the head coach is responsible for every dribble on the court, but I think this has as much to do with Wheeler than it does Calipari. The problem is, he has nobody else to turn to. Until his injury, TyTy was able to alleviate a lot of that burden last season.

I honestly think he tries, but it is painful to watch. He has no confidence in even feeding the post.

It would help if he could use both hands. I've never seen someone so reluctant to use the off hand at the D1 level.

Anyone read Kyle Tucker’s article in the Athletic? Mitch has made some less than popular moves but if this is all true he will probably have to address some of it.

I've been wondering if the Cal situation will eventually cost Mitch his job.

If the article is to be believed (I for one trust Kyle Tucker more than most) maybe it should. 
 

He purposefully kept Cal from publicly apologizing to stoops over the “Basketball School” comment then blindsides him in the press conference with Stoops. That is petty and not the way to treat one of the faces (if not the face) of your athletic department. 
 

If he refuses to allow a basketball practice facility with Cal covering the costs from former players that is a bad look. Maybe you don’t have room. Maybe Title IX is an issue. But those things can be worked out. 
 

Not allowing Cal to hire a basketball GM is rough. If UK has smaller support staff than any other basketball school that is not a big ask. Kyle says UK staff is small comparable to other programs. 
 

Not in Mitch but I’m also curious how the assistant coaches not watching film breaks down. I would love to see the actual job descriptions of the basketball support staff.
