This is something I saw refuted yesterday. Some think Kentucky gets recruits "Because we're Kentucky." Well, history doesn't show that's true. 
 

 

Not to mention in today's climate, zero recruits care about the five titles had before 1996, and most of them don't care about any prior to 2012.

I think the #1 goal of all top recruits is getting to the NBA. That may be goals 1-10 actually. If they get a title out of it, great. But I agree, they don't care like we do, IMO.

Where did this guy get his figures and information? I could make a chart saying exactly the different thing.

I’m not sure where he seen it but a buddy I work with said that he had read that a booster member from Texas made the statement that he doesn’t know why Cal is lying to the UK fans and that he’s leaving and taking all of the incoming recruits with him to Texas. Again I’m not sure where my buddy seen it but this is what he was telling me this morning.

"He doesn't know why Cal is lying to the UK fans" - Even if Cal were leaving, unless he's planning to quit in the middle of the season, which he wouldn't be doing, he still has to coach here for two months.  What in the world would there be for him to gain in saying "I'm leaving" or even revealing if he is thinking of leaving? That would be a very unpleasant environment for a while.

And I imagine if Cal did leave he would be attempting to take all of the incoming recruits.  But the likelihood of him taking them all to Texas would be pretty low.  That's not to say Kentucky would keep literally any of them, but take them all? He didn't even manage that moving from Memphis to Kentucky. MEMPHIS! Xavier Henry and Nolan Dennis went to other places.

The point is, UK is not going to pull recruits just because they are UK. Kids don't care.

I appreciate your opinion but still think that “Kentucky “ on the uniform means everything to young recruits.

Then why has Cal been struggling to land the elite recruits in past years?
