And Louisville fans are definitely butt hurt about him leaving for UC, regardless of how some of them want to try to spin it. You may have wanted him gone but there's fans that "feel some type of way" that he left for UC and a former rival. If they didn't care, they'd stay out of UC football mentions and stop going to UC message boards to throw shade that he didn't have success at their favorite program. 

 

I'm in no way a fan of either school. I have family that are huge UC fans and several friends that are huge Cards fans. To a person each Bearcat fan is upset about this hire and each Cardinal fan is ecstatic that he's gone...not one is Butthurt! ?

I'm gonna go ahead and assume you're basing your "Louisville fans are definitely butt hurt" statement on whatever you've dug up from the dark corners of Twitter and the YouTube comments.

My wife and I attended a Christmas party at the Louisville home of one of my wife's former University of Louisville Hospital attending physicians on Saturday. Lots of Louisville fans, and an easy 15+ UofL graduates present. Tons of talk about the football team, Brohm, and Satterfield. It was 100%....literally 100% unanimous that UC jumped on a grenade in hiring Satterfield away.

Regardless of how YOU may want to try to spin it, UC did Louisville a favor here. We're literally wishing you best of luck with Coach Satt, and you're getting salty about it, trying to say we're bitter that he's gone. Who's the spin doctor in this situation?

They want us to be upset because of the rivalry, I guess. 

The fact that they get mad and call us bitter when we wish them well is pretty funny, to be honest.

Not a fan of either program, but this is certainly how it appears to me.

Frankly speaking, I think Louisville sports are still very much reeling in the wake of the mess created by University President Ramsey and AD Jurich. I think the athletic department on the whole is a struggle, so I'm with you in thinking Satterfield wasn't about to be shown the door - although I certainly would have loved for him to have been. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they actually managed to hire Brohm, even though back when UofL was trying to replace Petrino, Brohm didn't make much if a secret about the fact that he was really hoping Louisville could meet his terms and hire him.

I'm sure there are other folks around Louisville who are upset about Coach Satt's departure, just like I'm sure there are plenty of folks who are thrilled to see him gone, as I am. It is what it is.

Fact of the matter, Louisville ended up with a coach who I think EVERYONE in the pro-Louisville football camp will agree is the better hire, and who is the coach should have been the hire instead of Satterfield in the first place.

I'm glad you're happy with Satterfield. I hope you all do well with him. Genuinely.

Football and basketball have been a mess for sure. 
 

Women’s basketball and volleyball have been VERY GOOD. 

Ryan Wallace, son of St. X coach Kevin Wallace, will be joining Brohm’s staff. He’s been at Purdue the last six seasons.

Yep. 

As a UK fan looking in from the outside I can't image why any UL fan would be upset that Satterfield has moved on.  25-24 record (under .500 in the ACC) and lost every game against their in-state rival by an average of 25 points, with several players from the city of Louisville wearing blue.  

Doesn't seem that long ago that you could pencil in an "L" for UK vs. UL and they were dominate head to head regarding recruiting the city of Louisville.  I feel like if Satterfield was looking for more money UK fans would have raised it on UL's behalf to keep him.  

Perhaps he works out at UC, but especially considering that he is replacing a coach that took them to the playoff's I just don't see what there is to be excited about.  

I work for a company that is headquartered in Columbus, strong supporter of all things Buckeye, heck Archie Griffin is on the Board of Directors, so not necessarily strong UC fans.  I attended a meeting last week and the topic of football was discussed during most breaks.  Most of the discuss was one whether or not the Buckeyes have a chance vs. Georgia and why did UC hire Satterfield.  FWIW it's worth the majority opinion is that it was a bad hire.  On the other issue my person opinion is that Buckeye fans aren't given the Bulldog defense enough respect.  One of these issues will be settled fairly soon, and the other one is going to take a few years to be answered.

My parents know him and his family very well.  He was an acolyte at their church in St. Augustine.
