TheDeuce
If Thamel is reporting it, that’s not good for UC.

9068
Hate it for UC as they head to the Big 12....but heck of a deal for a good coach and nicer guy.

Walter
I figured Fick would leave eventually but never imagined it would be for Wisconsin. Truly the end of an era. Home winning streak done. No AAC championship appearance. And now looking for a new coach. Rough weekend for Bearcat fans.
hrcarrier
This clearly stinks for UC fans, but I see him doing well in Madison.

And the pool of potential replacements is much larger today than it would have been in the past because of the success Fickell has had. Now you're moving to a bigger conference, with more money, and an opportunity at an almost automatic spot in the playoffs in a few years.
Jumper_Dad
Did Fickell get divorced? I ask because last year about this time UC followers all said his wife wouldn't let him move out of Ohio.

If I had a nickel for every fan base that was convinced "their coach is different and would not leave our university," I would have a lot of nickels. I obviously do not know the specifics of this situation, but UC was fortunate to keep him as long as they did, and most likely had him an extra year because of last season's success of making the playoffs.
bugatti
If you are being strategic, going to the B1G West is a brilliant move. I guess we will see what Rhule does at Nebraska, but who are you scared of? Minnesota? Iowa? Purdue? That is a horrific power conference division. He can make an instant impact in Madison.
