Maybe the 2019 Covcath team as well. Michael Mayer playing  both ways and doing whatever he wanted to do. Man amongst boys. 

The 2017 team had a better offense and I believe they were better than the 2019 team. 

I agree here, the 17 team was absolutely loaded. I don't know how they would hold up against a St. X level team on the line of scrimmage, but the game is probably a coin flip at the worst. A couple guys on that team:

- AJ Mayer at QB (3 star QB and played at Miami OH and Arkansas St)

- Kam Butler at TE/LB (3 star athlete. 2x All-Mac at Miami and now starting at Virginia at DE)

- Jack Coldiron at WR/LB (3 star athlete and starting TE at Miami OH now)

- Mike Mayer (5 star TE. Even as a soph, an outstanding player. Likely 1st round pick in 23 NFL Draft)

- Casey Mcginness (arguably the best RB in school history)

- Grant Dyer and Malachi Pike (Both started at LB/S at lower tier FCS schools)

So you’re telling me you haven’t seen film of the 98 Highlands team. 

98-00 Highlands take your pick. Even after Lorenzen and Derek Smith the 99-00 teams had Guidugli, Hamblen, Grover, Rob Smith …loaded.

2012 Trinity may be the best team ever, in the state. 

Highlands 2009 team, hands down.

2009-3RD in the nation.

This is the year that HHS beat a Cincinnati X team that was ranked in the top 5 in the nation.  Some names of players on the HHS team;

Abner, Bardo, Collinsworth, Roller, Towles, Buten, Gold, Schlosser(SP?)

Sweeper Boy  posted the full schedule and results a long time ago.

(This is also the year that Cincy X crushed Trinity and KY St. X)

Very true. Wish things would have linked up better for Hamblen; as good as he was I don't think he ever reached his true potential in high school and definitely not in college. 

Brett Hamblen has been Water Cooler talk as being the Best All around player to ever suit up in a Highlands Uniform. He was a Dude. Someone said he has a Kid coming through in the Junior League right now. Can’t wait to see his genes.

The year before they had Scott Kuhnhein on D who was at Ohio State in 98.
