Defenses win Superbowls!

Against the single worst offense in the league, bar none.  Better hope it's "almost" Superbowl hangover.  Otherwise your squad has some issues.

Almost every team that has made a super bowl or won a super bowl. Had to have at least some good luck along the way. I’m not sure why so many National people, and apparently you with that statement only seem to bring up the luck part in regards to the Bengals. They were fortunate in the injury department last year. However, the Chiefs and Bills last year had even less games lost to injury than the Bengals, yet no one talks about that.
 

It wasn’t just luck beating the Chiefs not just once, but twice in a month. Including both times holding that offense to 3 points in the second half. Yeah maybe if they only did that once to the Chiefs, it could be considered lucky. Doing it twice isn’t just luck. Its not just luck going on the road in the playoffs and beating the number 1 and 2 seeds in your conference by making game winning plays. 
 

Back to Lewis and Dalton. They were horrible in both prime time and playoff games. So yes they definitely deserve a lot of the blame, because it was a consistent issue with them in those types of games. So they did deserve the blame they got. Why you decided to even bring that up is beyond me.

If "everybody" expected the Steelers to get blown out, then "everybody" doesn't know football.  The Steelers have 3 all pros on defense and a great supporting cast on that side.  This game went exactly how I thought it would (with the exception of the long snapper issues).  I anticipated the Bengals winning a close one in the 4th quarter.  When you don't play any preseason games and go up against a defense as talented as Pittsburgh you get the results we saw in the first half.  We saw the same thing in the Rams game.

It's just one game.  Bengals beat the Steelers in a game that "everyone" thought the Bengals would get blown out in 2020.  It's football.

Also, the Steelers beat the Bills week one last year in Buffalo in a similar fashion and the Bills turned out just fine.

It's obvious the Steelers were prepared to play and out played the Bengals and a large part of that is the Steelers starters played a lot of snaps in the pre season and the Bengals, outside of Volson, played little to none.  Now, Burrow couldn't have played because of his surgery but the rest could have at least played a series or two.

Oh well on to a depleted Dallas with a back up QB. Hopefully it's not another Mike White situation.

I will add this.  I haven't been to a Steelers/Bengals game where the fans around us were as cool as the ones yesterday.  We all had a blast.  The couple behind us (Bengals fans of course) were hilarious and we all had a terrific back and forth in a game that allowed it for certain.  Win or lose, it was a great game to attend and those folks were fantastic.

 

And I'm quite certain that this Cincy team will be a force to be reckoned with as this season progresses and they shake a bit of rust off.   My guys, without the best player in the league (of course I'm biased) will struggle to match that defensive output again and will have to watch the guys they run out there for offense struggle to move the ball inches at a time.

Generally speaking Bengals fans are great and this game will bring the "rough ones" back down to the Earth.

Actually the defense played great but you can’t expect a team to keep a team out of the end zone when you have 6 turnovers. 

If you have 6 turnovers you aren’t going to beat anyone including a midget pee wee team. 

This is off topic but just a couple of minutes ago I was sitting here at the computer doing my BGP thing and I heard the loudest rumble I have ever heard.  I jetted (lol) out to my back deck and watched four F18s taking off and heading south.  I would say those planes were roughly three times as loud as any commercial jets and they definitely had a lot more punch picking up speed.  So cool!
