Back to the game.  I don't think I added much in the prediction/update thread but my thinking this week was the Steelers really battled in the preseason trying to figure out who was going to be their starting QB.   We, on the other hand, had our QB out recovering from surgery and just played mostly the scrubs.  This game was our first scrimmage and for the Steelers it was on like Donkey Kong.  In other words, I am not surprised at all by this loss.

Moving forward, I am not worried at all about the Bengals, we will be just fine.

Ok, I'm a little concerned with the OL.  There was a toss sweep to Mixon near the Steelers goal line that got blown up.  The Bengals linemen on the left side were standing around and simply didn't know their assignments.  They just waved at the Steelers DL and LB as they went by.  I wonder if Ogunjobi gave them a good scouting report (his name was mentioned a lot over the PA).  Hoping the Bengals get that all fixed.

ESPN says 3 solo, one for a loss and one QB hit.  It seemed like more.

Bengals put Clark Harris on IR. They singed Cal Admittis from the practice squad.

Assuming Adomitis is near perfect I agree.

Ogunjobi wasn't a pushover in the run game.  His effort allowed Jack and Bush to make a few plays that previously, with Wormley and others, had gone for backside gainers at will.  I hope he stays healthy, he is not on the level of a healthy Tuitt, but he's head and shoulders above the rest of the depth at that position.  He's been great.

 

And to answer the TJ question above, who knows what the outcome will be.   The talking heads say 6 weeks now.  I hope that's true.  I'm biased, but I think he's the best player in the league.  Tough to duplicate what he brings.

Here is a little more on Adomitis from one of his college coaches as posted on Bengals.com:

"He's a football player and he wanted to work with the linebackers after he was done with his technical duties and he was in our drills," Manalac said. "He did everything. Bag drills, fighting through blocks, tackling, he did it all. He was able to really work on his agility, getting side to side. The guy was a bright light. For a long snapper to be named a captain, that says a lot and how much of an influence he had."
