They were 10-2 last year and returned a lot of starters. Most teams ranked where  they're at would get blown out by a #1 team like Frederick Douglass. Things will be more clear with couple more games.

Frederick Douglas according to CALPreps would beat St.X the top ranked 6A squad 27-20.

They also say FD would beat Simon Kenton 56-7.  

That defensive front for Freddie is going to cause ALOT of people problems this year.

      Not a football guy, but it seems to me that the 6A is those top 3 or 4 teams and then everyone else.

    Or Calpreps needs a few weeks to work through the bad magic numbers.

    Watched the stream of the St. X game and I do not see it. Are they athletic? Yes. Dominating? absolutely not.

    Right, in varsity portion of Frederick Douglass scrimmage they didn't score a td against St. X.

    People put way too much stock into Calpreps.

    Not perfect. Like any computer ranking, it gets better as the season goes on. But it is by far the most accurate ranking system I have seen in any sport.
