Boyle County 1-0 beat Madison Consolidated 50-2 

Bryan Station 0-1 lost to Frederick Douglass 52-7 

The second game of the Rebel Bowl at Boyle County pits two teams ranked in the top 10 in their respective classes. Boyle County shook off the first game jitters after a couple of series and rolled to a 50-2 victory over Madison Consolidated out of Indiana. Despite the large margin of victory the Rebels will find things they need to work on this week if they hope to be victorious again against a considerably stronger opponent in Bryan Station. Boyle’s Defense was as good as expected only allowing 54 total yards and forcing 3 interceptions. Offensively the Rebs showcased a variety of weapons at the skill positions with at least 5 different players scoring TDs. 
 

Bryan Station is going to need to put last week behind them quickly as another top tier opponent looms ahead. Station was unable to get the offense moving against the Douglass Defense gaining only 78 yards. Special teams blunders also gave Douglass a short field all night. The Defenders must make progress and learn if they want to contend this week.  
 

Will a better opponent expose the Rebels more and get them out of sorts or will the Rebels be just too much for the Defenders? 

Boyle running clock.

Boyle's o-line was the only weak spot I saw against Madison. Quisenberry looked great, expect him to have a big year. Boyle should win this game but I don't know about a running clock.

Qusinberry will be the best player on the field. Boyle wins 35-7. 

I agree Quisenberry is very good. Boyle will have Zeismer already Div. one commit plus Bodner, Dawson MVP and other very good players. Bryan Station has some good individual players as well. Remember this is a 6A school playing against Boyle only 3A in enrollment , just playing up to 4A. Don't need to put more pressure  on Montavius than he already has

I can see Boyle’s OL struggles possibly keeping this close in the first half but Boyle’s conditioning and discipline will reign supreme in the second half. If Bryan Station doesn’t have any more offensive success a running clock could be possible some point in the second half. 

There is the dynamic of Station playing vs friends, neighbors and old teammates against Douglass. There are no ties with Boyle... There may be a different motivation for them this week.

Boyle Running clock 3rd Quarter. I'm not sure Boyle has a tough game for them on the schedule until Frederick Douglass the last game of the season.

I didn't realize this.  I know Boyle is a magnet for players, but still, to keep the consistency they have had is amazing.  Great coaching doesn't hurt either.

Sorry to say it will be another running clock with the Defenders on the wrong side of it.
