I dont see how Sharpe hurt UK. I view it as Sharpe didnt help UK. Those aren't the same thing how I view it.

There is a decent chance Kentucky goes A lot farther if Sharpe plays against Saint Peters. How is that not hurting UK's chances of winning a national title? To me that is hurting UK simple as that. You put all available pieces  together to try and win the big prize.

He may not have hurt UK in the long run but he most Certainly hurt UK this season.

It still doesn't matter.  Sharpe enrolling and getting a scholarship did not cause some random kid who wanted to come to have to bear a bigger financial burden.

Let's call it for what it is.  People are angry about UK losing early and/or frustrated with Calipari and this is one way to vent.  People who have absolutely no stake in the game are trying to dictate what someone who has all the stake in the game should do.

And this is the main problem with UK basketball at present time, the guy that’s in charge of the stakes isn’t getting the job done and we the stakeholders have nothing we can do about it, something just doesn’t seem right with this scenario.

I don't see it as hurting.  I see it as not helping, which is maybe semantics but I view it differently.  He wasn't supposed to be on this team.  He was potentially a bonus to this team that didn't payoff.  To me, bonuses don't hurt you because they weren't counting on him for this season when the team was put together.

So that's why I see it more as he just didn't help this team vs hurting it.

Hypothetical. Sharpe plays a game for UK. Sprains his ankle and is done for the season. Goes to the NBA. We all happy now?

Since when did fans become stakeholders?  I mean maybe if you're a season ticket holder but that seems like quite a stretch.  Hell, what percentage of UK fans didn't even go to UK?  I'm one.

Fans are more important than players who actually play the games and might possibly change their lives forever from a financial standpoint.  Get with the program, MJ.

To put this thread back on the lineup for next year...I have seen UK ranked very high in some of these ridiculously early rankings for 2022-23.  Oscar or no Oscar, I don't understand the optimism.  Wallace and Livingston would have to really, really shine.

I don't remember all the names or details but its supposed to be a big recruiting weekend for Kentucky.  A five star 6'6'' forward out of Canada and Reeves from Illionois State, whose supposed to be a big time scorer, in town this weekend.

But I'm with you, without knowing the pieces, its strange to be ranked so high.

The only Canadian I'm aware of is Leonard Miller, but he's 6'11".  He's the kid that had a late growth-spurt and is shooting up in the recruiting rankings.  Brother plays for TCU, but I think he's likely to choose the G-League.  He is visiting this weekend, along with Reeves.  Reeves averaged 20 a game this year.
