Wil Wade Fired by LSU

Featured Replies

Finally! This guy has survived like a roach after an A-Bomb. ?

How often is a coach fired a week before the team plays in the NCAA tournament, has it ever happened before? Maybe Michigan when Steve Fischer got the job.

Wade and LSU were hit with multiple level 1 NCAA violations last week.

LSU as you may remember tried to suspend him a year or so ago, and he wouldn't let them.

LSU is looking at multiple violations across the athletic department, this could get ugly for them.

Once the infractions were made public, there was no way he kept the job.

This is like two years too late.

I can’t decide if that says more about how little LSU cares or how good Wade’s legal team is.

Jump watch Bruce Weber's(Kansas State) resignation from the other night. He won't get a haircut until the NCAA does something....and he's getting shaggy lol. Most of the teams/coaches under investigation will be in tournament. I think you're going to see Kent State file a big suit over the MAC banning their players in championship game. Unfortunately it's where we are....and the portal and NIL are going to stoke the fire.

The former, I’d say.

LSU did suspend him I believe in 2019 and he missed the SEC tournament and NCAA tournament. Then some reason they reinstated him after the tournament was over and somehow survived until now.

Yeah, I may be mistaken but he basically came back to work and dared them to fire him back then.

He was suspended and missed both the conference and NCAA tournament. Then the AD at the time reinstated him after the tournament and they updated his contract with the clause that he could be fired with cause if he was ever found to be responsible for violations.

This guy will have no problem finding another job.

Probably so, especially with the NIL deal he doesn't have to backdoor any payments to players.....now it can be out in the open and legal.

I don't think he makes a program better...he'll just win more games and that's all that matters to fans.

I think he knows enough basketball to boost a program that hires him, the guy can turn a mediocre program into a contender.

But is he worth the baggage? Isn't he being investigated by the FBI?
